Obviously summer is amazing for many reasons and I'm so glad it's finally here.  But with the warmer weather comes ice cream and with ice cream comes a bigger butt.  Or maybe that's just me, my neighbourhood ice cream truck and my lack of self control.  But no matter.  We all want an enviable rear and there's no reason not to have one.

With these exercises from Trainer George and some dedication/self-control, perky butt-dom could be yours!  All are intermediate to advanced and as always you should check with your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.  Et cetera and so forth.

Donkey Kicks
5 exercises for a perky butt
Standing with your knees slightly bent, extend one thigh backwards (keeping the leg straight), while pressing your arms slightly forward.  It is recommended that you make Donkey noises as you kick your leg back.

Do 3 sets of 15 repetitions per side.

Step Ups
5 Exercises for a Perky Butt
You can do this on stairs or a small bench.  Standing on the step, extend the hip by pushing one thigh backwards while keeping the leg straight.

Do 3 sets of 15 repetitions per leg.

Hip Extensions
5 Exercises for a Perky Butt
Facing down with your hands under shoulders and your knees under your hips, extend one leg off the floor. 

Do 3 sets of 15 repetitions per leg.

One Leg Deadlift
5 Exercises for a Perky Butt
Standing on one leg with the knee bent 20 degrees, take the opposite hand towards the toes maintaining a neutral spine. 

Do 3 sets of 12 repetitions per side.

Hip Raises
5 Exercises for a Perky Butt
Lie on your back with your feet on floor and knees bent. Lift hips up into bridge position while lifting one leg out.

Do 3 sets of 12 repetitions per side.

I hope you were squeezing your butt cheeks as you read this. If so, you are well on your way to a tighter tush already. But it gets better...
