Beach Essentials: New Products for Face, Body, Hair and More!

| Thursday July 5, 201212 comments

With the warm weather in full force, what better way to cool off than going to the beach. Of course, a trip to the beach is never as simple as throwing a suit and towel into a bag. There's your makeup, your skin and your hair to think of! The wind, sun, and humidity can melt your makeup or give your hair a bad case of the frizzies. That's why we're here! We have a whole whack of fabulous new summer products to help you keep your cool!

For Your Face

With the summer heat, having a face full of layered makeup isn't exactly desirable. Lighten up with BB Creams, or hybrid products that do double duty. Try: #1 L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream (C$16.99, available July 2012), #4 Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup (C$42.00, available August 2012), #5 Covergirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers (C$7.99), #6 Shiseido Makeup Lacquer Rouge (C$30.00, available October 2012)

A day at the beach can be rough on your makeup. Try waterproof or long lasting options that promise to keep you looking your best, no matter what the weather. Try: #Chanel Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear Lip Colour (C$36.18), #Covergirl Lineblast 24HR Liquid Eyeliner (C$10.99), #7 Clinique Lash Power Mascara (C$18.00), #8 Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25HR Foundation (US$7.29), #9 Tarte Amazonian Clay 12Hr Blush (C$ 33.00).

For Your Hair and Body

Before stepping out to the beach, get your skin its softest with: #2 Rocky Mountain Organic Sugar Scrub (C$21.00) and #1 Olay Quench Plus Touch of Sun Body Lotion (C$10.99) which also contains a gradual sunless tanner! Once you're at the beach, don't skimp on the sun protection. We suggest bringing #8 RoC Soleil Protexion Invisible Touch SPF 30 Atomizer Spray (C$24.00) with you.

If hummidity reeks havoc on your hair, try some soothing hair care stylers. Pick up: #4 Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Sleek Finish 5 in 1 Serum Spray (C$5.49, available July 2012) #5 Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk (C$5.49, available July 2012), #6 John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Hair Serum (C$15.99), #7 Herbal Essences Touchably Smooth Anti-Frizz Creme (C$4.99). Post-beach, add any needed texture and wave to your hair with #3 Marc Anthony Amplifying Texture Spray (C$14.99).

Your Purse Essentials

1. Calvin Klein CK One Shock For Her (C$18.00, available July 2012) is travel sized for easy fragrance on the go!
2. eos Everyday Hand Lotion (C$3.99) comes in a cute, spherical shape and smells ah-mazing!
3. Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths (C$10.99) are great for quick clean ups or makeup mishaps. The perfect refresher after a day out.
4. Victoria's Secret Tie-Waist Cover-Up Dress (C$33.50) is comfy, comes in a trendy teal and looks cute to boot!

I try to take as little as possible to the beach. In a small draw string bag I put in sunscreen, refillable ice water in bottle with a thermal cover, wipes, a small brush, a small amount of money, hair tie, towel and lip balm with an SPF. I try not to wear make-up so I get an even tan without smears.
