Britney Spears "I Wanna Go" Video: Playful Or Painful?

Posted by Siofan | Wednesday June 22, 201113 comments

Britney Spears' newest music video has just dropped. The song is "I Wanna Go" and the video reflects the song's theme of wanting to break out and do what she wants, as well as her battling with photographers (who turn out to be Terminators?) and going on a road trip with a guy who likes milk (like, a lot). Watch for the twist ending!

What do you guys think? Is it tongue-in-cheek or a bit bittersweet knowing her troubles in the past?

Whoa Becky you're right about her makeup. I agree I think she looks fab and even though the milk and some of the stuff was whacky, it got people talking.

I actually really liked her look! Did any of you guys notice she rimmed her waterline with red eyeliner and then added charcoal and smudged it? I had to pause the video just right to figure out why her eyes looked like that. Makes for a very interesting look!! I don't really like the music video 'cuz I don't really get it...whats up with the milk and shells and 'droids? Weird! But I did like watching her outfit, hair and makeup. Very fun look :) And I love how she got her body back! :) :)

I agree that this was... not great. Too many themes mixed into one. I remember similar critique of Lady Gaga's Telephone vid.

I don't understand what Brit's doing lyric-wise. "Hold It Against Me" was the same. It seems like we put up with exchange-student lyrics from Ace of Bass, but Brit I'd expect more from.

Musically, it's what I call "stuff you can dance to", so it's fun but not deep. I guess I'm kind of snobby that way - want to have both.

*yawn*. I was bored by it. And confused by several parts (the milk, the seashells), etc.

She does look like Avril. Maybe that's why I despise the outfit. But other than that I love the video; I thinks it's cheeky. I'm also really glad that for her second (or third?) comeback BritBrit's body is back, if only she would dance like she used to. But I was hoping "Up and Down" would be the next single, there are so many better songs on the cd.

Nothing will ever top Toxic - video and song. Don't want to use old music as a measuring stick, but she set that bar , even womanizer was better - shes looks way healthier though. and that ending is such a rip off of MJ's Thriller ending!! She is more capable of these cheap pop songs

She looks so much like Avril Lavigne in this video- not just the hair, even her outfit reminds me of her! Also that cop totally looks like Kevin Federline.

I love BritBrit, but I love crazy Britney even more to be honest! She is so much more interesting when she's off the deep end! I am happy though that she seems to be taking care of herself, her kids and taking control of her career. She just did an interview with Harpers Bazarr where she seemed a lot more thoughtful and mature.

Ya I don't get the milk thing at all!
She looks really good though I have to say! I'm happy for her.

I think it's sweet that she's trying to show she has a sense of humour about herself, but elements of the video seem kind of odd - like the guy dumping milk on himself and the cyborgs, it's like two video ideas were squished into one.

YES thank you GlamGal! I knew she reminded me of someone.
It looks like Avril Lavigne in her "Hot" video!
