Itching for a vacation?

Here are 3 hot tips for saving on vacation:
1. Don’t be too picky about the destination! Get your dates in check and and choose the best deal - wherever that may be. Itravel2000.com let’s you search packages within a whole region so you can find the best deal.

2. Book well in advance. The low-cost carriers will book up 3-4 weeks in advance, so the earlier you can book, the cheaper.

3. Surf the web. Chances are you will find the best deals scouring the web yourself.

If you want to bronze on the beach, snorkel in clear water, and party the night away, the best Caribbean deals are usually in Cuba, Mexico or the Dominican Republic. We’ve found week long 3- or 4-star vacation packages for as low as $400 on Redtag.ca. But amazing deals can be found on the web in places that have traditionally been more costly like the Bahamas or Turks and Caicos.

History buff? Check out Rapid City in the Black Hills mountains of South Dakota for a little taste of the Wild West. Your stops can include Deadwood, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and Mount Rushmore. Head to Hotwire.com or Priceline.com for the best hotel prices.

For an adventure, Icefields Parkway runs 230 km between Jasper and Lake Louise in Alberta and is known for amazing mountain-biking tours. It can be done between 2-5 days and there are plenty of camping grounds and inexpensive hostels along the way.

Our favourite sites for catching a deal:
Hotwire.com, FlightNetwork.com, Travelzoo.com, LastMinute.com, Kayak.com, and Priceline.com
