Gift Guide: Treat Dad on Father's Day

My Dad always says, “I brought you into this world, I can take you right back out.” It’s the time of year again, so to thank him for keeping me around all this time I am looking to pick him up something special. If you are too, here are our picks:

1) Dad can grill like a king with Cuisinart’s 14-piece Deluxe Grill Set (C$49.99). All that’s missing is a juicy steak.

2) He’ll never have to stop and ask for directions again (and you won’t have to ask him to) with the TomTom XL 340TM 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator - Lifetime Traffic & Maps Edition (C$169.95).

3) and 4) For the outdoorsy Dad, John Varvatos Artisan Black Gift Set (C$80.93) is the perfect scent. Or he’ll feel like a million bucks wearing the John Vavartos Vintage Gift Set (C$80.93)

5) Trim a little time off Dad’s morning routine with Aveda Pure-Formance Dual Action Aftershave (C$35.00). Bonus: it’s all-natural.

6) Dad will enjoy taking it easy watching Rookie Blue (C$54.99) while you take care of the yard for once.

7) The Kobe Touch eReader (C$139.00) only has one button that Dad needs to worry about as he can connect to the Internet and browse thousands of books, newspapers and magazines.

8. Let him relax on weekends in a casual T-shirt. Maybe one adorned with quotes from another Dad, Charlie Sheen ($30.90 USD), to make him laugh. Or design your own with one of Dad's sayings to let him know you listen when he talks sometimes.

9. The
Conair iStubble (C$89.99) will let him keep his manly, and well groomed, 5 o’clock shadow everyday.

10. Keep Dad’s trip to the golf course stress-free and just a little more organized with the Golf Gifts and Gallery Golf Trunk Locker (C$39.99)

11. He’ll love the instant auto focus and high shooting speeds sported by Fugifilm’s FinePix F550EXR (C$349.99).He’ll also love that it’s compatible with that HDTV he’s had his eye on.

12. Help Dad keep his cool with style in an Old Navy Military Linen-Blend Shirt (C$26.94).

13. For the man with everything, satisfy his need for speed and enroll him in Bridgestone’s Racing School for the Thrill of a Lifetime (C$295.00 and up).

14. Dad may be the king of the BBQ in his mind, but if he could use a few hints try Eat Like a Man: The Only Cookbook a Man will Ever Need (C$34.00).

15. This staple Joe Fresh polo shirt (C$12.00) comes 16 different colours.

16. Sperry Top-Siders (from C$79.99) are the perfect casual shoes for a casual Dad.

17. Dad can return to the good old days and listen to his vinyl with the Urban Outfitters’ Hype Briefcase USB Record Player (C$129.00). He’ll be even happier that it’s PC compatible.

18. Clarins Men Revitalizing Gel (C$48.00) will let Dad deny the aging process just a little bit longer. The energizing gel helps tired skin, for tired Dads.

How will you thank your Dad this Father’s Day?

I know my dad is old school and likes to use maps but I think I'll think about getting him a GPS to save him some trouble.

@jskim07 I think, but I could be way way off, you just plug it into your computer to upload songs from records onto it. But like I said, could be way off.

And THIS is why I love ChickAdvisor. I had no idea (like usual) about what to buy my dad... now I've got some great ideas. I think he would love the grill set and maybe a cookbook to go with it.

We've been thinking about signing my Dad of for race school for a while, but I think he'd get way to used to the speed. So for now, I'll stick with the BBQ Set, and a trip to Mosport to see some vintage cars.

Love the Cuisinart grill set, it's like a spy's briefcase but with BBQ tools. Instead of James Bond it's James BBQ, haha!

My Dad is a total Daredevil. I think he'd love the racing school but I'd worry too much about him doing it!
