I am shocked that this look is coming back! I remember the early 90's, when crushed velvet was popular with a choker and dark lipstick, oh jeez I'm aging!

I do not like Ginnifer Goodwin's dress at all. Sorry. I think it looks really odd.

@curlysue10 - I wore a crushed velvet emerald dress to my Grade 12 Christmas party! I am very on the fence about this, but for other reasons. I find the fabric doesn't breathe well and collects lint like nobody's business. But I love the look, I will confess and am partial to the red Bebe one-shouldered number. Emma, as usual, looks stunning!

I'm personally not a fan of velvet... I think I used to own a maroon velvet dress or top... oh and a pair of velvet pants! I don't know... I agree with Cathy.. the feel is just really odd haha

I wore a black crushed velvet dress to my high school commencement ceremony. My mom talked me into it because she said it looked so good; I however thought it was ugly but did not have time to shop for a more suitable dress (you know those times when you seem to search forever and then finally just buy whatever?) I have to admit it does fit like a glove, and it has a pretty gold trim. It has sat in the back of my closet ever since but good to know it's back in style!

Velvet is so luxurious looking, and I especially love Emma Watson's dress (she's been so stylish lately).

But I can't wear it myself because I can't stand the way velvet feels when you brush your hand against the grain....I cringe just thinking about it! Anyone else find this or am I crazy?
