How to DIY Nail Stickers

Posted by Alexandra C. | Wednesday May 9, 201225 comments

We're big fans of the nail sticker trend at ChickAdvisor. We love how easy they are to apply and how you can achieve gorgeous prints in just minutes. We've even used them to bling out a French mani! Of course, the downside to nail stickers is that you're limited to whatever designs are sold.

Well, not anymore! We came across this post on DIY nail stickers and we knew we had to give it a go! It looked so simple. So simple in fact, that we were skeptical it would actually work. However, it did! While it doesn't last long, it's great way to dress up a basic, solid colour nail for the day.

Another great thing about this DIY is the fact that you will definitely already have all the items on hand and it takes about 5 minutes. Say you're in a rush, you're about to take off for a party and (gasp!) you look down and find chipped nails. Pull a McGyver and five minutes out to try this on and presto- instant, new mani!

Want to try some homemade nail stickers for yourself?

To help adhere the tape, after applying, we brushed it with a layer of top coat. For ease, we experimented with just stripes, cut thinly from the tape and trimmed to the right size. But I say go wild with these! If you really wanted to get crazy, add some nail polish pens to the mix and draw a design!

Are you chicks nail sticker obsessed like us? What's your current fave nail art trend?

Looks like something you would have to practice a lot to get a good application.

This looks like a sticky mess to me. Personally I am not a big fan of working with scotch tape. So I don't think I'd try this one.Close but no cigar !!!!

You can cut the scotch with different curves and use them as templates. Once dry you take it out. I've tried it and the results are really pro. You can try this to make rainbows in your nails when you dont have the special pen!
