Spring is in the air, but we hanker for one last wintry getaway. If you've already received your income tax refund, there's no better time for a last minute trip to the slopes. With most locations reporting deep snow base and lots of fluffy powder, it's a no-brainer.

We also recommend Hotwire.com (no, they aren't advertisers of ours nor is this a paid endorsement.  We'll always say so if that's the case. We just happen to love them) for excellent hotel deals at any destination. Check with area hotels and businesses for their in-house lift ticket discounts.

My tip: if you're skiing Big White, Kelowna, BC (Canada), stop by Cooper's grocery store on Highway 33W for cheap day lift tickets plus a free bag lunch!
