Last Minute DIY Gifts for Everyone on Your List

Posted by Alexandra C. | Wednesday December 18, 20137 comments

So, you didn't take my warnings seriously and now with about a week 'til the BIG DAY, you've got yourself into a bit of a pickle? That's okay, don't panic. I don't hold grudges and being a Chick, I'm always here to help you out.

I found a few super simple projects you can tackle for DIY gifts for anyone or everyone on your list. They won't take much time and they won't hurt your wallet either. Plus, is there anything better than receiving a gift that someone has made for you? I know it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy all over.

DIY for the Beauty Buff:

Steal away a few ingredients from your kitchen cupboard, find a mason jar and you've got everything you need to create a skin smoothing scrub or a pucker perfect lip scrub. Or, make a few bath bombs for the person who needs a little soothing TLC in their life.

DIY for the Homebody:

Got a person on your list who's idea of a perfect Friday night is microwaving some popcorn and sitting down with a DVD? Gift them home accessories for the perfect atmosphere. Personalize mason jars or mugs that can multi-task in their home. Or make book ends that look way pricier than they are. More crafty ideas can be found here and here

DIYs to Keep 'Em Cozy:

Keep your loved ones warm and cozy with some knit pressies. I love these slipper socks or here's how to make an infinity scarf or even try upcycling some old sweaters for a new gift.

DIY for the Foodie:

Creating little kits and packages is great for offices because you can buy large boxes and split them up for additional savings. I'm going to be making a few boozy hot chocolate kits this year for sure! Other ideas are: cookie or baked good packages or hot chocolate with all the fixings

DIY for the Tech Obsessed:

Someone on your list who is never without their phone or tablet? Make them a one of a kind case. This diy for a tablet uses an old notebook and this rustic leather case also has a pocket for cards.

DIY for the Super Last Minute Gifters:

So, you've only got a day before the gift exchange and you're empty handed? Hurry to the nearest drugstore, grocery store or coffee chop and pick up a gift card. Then whip up a great way to present it to them! Here are a few of my favourites: DIY itunes CardholderGlitter Box for CardsFelt Coffee Cup.

I have pretty much finished my shopping. I didn't really make anything this year, but I love, love, love the ideas here. Especially the cookie in a jar with one colour of candy. Looks so pretty. I also like the mugs with chalkboard paint.

I made a few cookie/cake in a jar for my co-workers this year and they loved it. I love making rather than buying gifts. These are some great ideas. I'm going to try making those scrubs and bath bombs. They seem simple enough to do.
