On A Quest To Get Fuller, Luscious Lips? Try This!

As a seasoned beauty enthusiast, there are a few simple rules that I obey without question.

1. Less is more
2. Never overpluck
3. It's all about balance (bold eye = nude lip and vice versa)

and lastly...

4. The over the top lip liner and lipstick combo should be left in the 90's

However, at Prada's Spring/Summer 2013 show, they totally blew my mind by breaking that last rule and (gasp!) actually made it look good:

Full looking, gorgeous lips were created simply by outlining around the lip and filling in. And it totally doesn't look like you're applying to clown academy! The trick to creating a wearable oversized lip is to line just beyond your natural lip line. Don't get too liner happy, ladies.

In the Prada SS13 show, the models also had their cupids bow lined in a white liner. While this works on a cat walk, it may not be wearable in real life. Instead, use a more subtle nude liner as an alternative for an everyday look or simply apply a bit of light reflecting shadow or gloss in the area. Gloss in the middle of the bottom lip also creates the illusion of a pillowy pout.

What do you think of the rebellious beauty look? Is it something you'd test out? My current blogging crush Beauty Editor did and it looked awesomesauce. She's inspired me to take on the challenge!

Not quite ready to commit to this beauty sin but still want the look? Try it out with a lip plumping gloss. Here are a few options we like:

1. Bite Cinnamon Plumping Lip Oil (C$25.00)

2. Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish (C$23.00)

3. Dior Dior Addict Lip Maximizer High Volume Lip Plumper (C$37.00)

4. Soap & Glory Super-Colour Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss (C$15.00)

1. Fusion Beauty LipFusion InFATuation (C$31.00)

2. DuWop Lip Venom (C$18.00)

3. Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme (C$39.00)

Have you ever tried lip plumpers? Would you? Or would you rather just try the oversized lip lining? What do you think of this look?

I really like the Soap&Glory;one...does sting, but the results are great for the price.

I've also used the LipFusion one and really enjoyed it, I got great plump without the burn!

I have the Dior one and I really like it, it doesn't sting at all and feels really glossy and smooth. It's not an instant plumper, but over time I have noticed a gradual volume increase which is nice :)

My favourite still is the Soap&Glory;one though. I rather like the stinging feeling from it because I know it's working! And it really does make my lips fuller instantly. Only thing I don't like is how sticky it is

@Bren @Luxx I've found that to be a common thing with most lip plumpers. It definitely bothers and irritates some people. I've never had an issue but I can see how some people would/ This one featured is actually a newer version of the Too Faced Injection and reading the ingredients list, I do believe it contains hot pepper but it also contains oils that might help soothe?

I've tried that Too Faced lip injection and it burnt my lips...I read the ingredients and it contains capsicum(hot pepper)

My sister was kind enough to give me a few glossy box samples that she wasn't using and it had the two faced lip injection extreme. It does plump up your lips, but it burns a lot, and it it looks a bit patchy.
As far as lipliner, I just bought and used it for the first time, I didn't "over line" my lips, but I have seen it done very well. I would not have been able to tell had she not posted a picture of herself without lipstick on.

I noticed the lip liner right away, but it's really not a bad thing. For these ladies (in this industry), it works really well. It looks gorgeous, and I'm kinda jealous. But for everyday, nude would be better!

When I first looked at these Pic's I never noticed that they had lip liner on, but I did see the bit of white. I like it for the runway, but that's about it. I still see women with big ugly lines on their lips, yuck! When their lip stick has worn away it looks even worse. I never did get why women would do that and think it looked good. As for the lip plumpers, I haven't tried them, but also don't feel the need to.
