ChickAdvisor:  How has blogging affected your life?

Kena Paranjape: Since I started writing I find myself noticing little things more and finding ways to interpret those ideas [to] share on my blog.  Sometimes I will literally write half a post in my head while waiting for the subway.

CA: What is the most interesting experience you’ve had as a writer?

KP: Interviewing Joe Mimran and Mireille Guilliano.  I [would love to have] Jeanne Beker!

CA: Who are your top fashion icons?

KP: Diane von Furstenberg and Coco Chanel.  Read [their] biographies – they’re fascinating!  But I think it is important to know yourself and define your own style rather than replicate someone else’s.  That  is why I love these women! 

CA: Who is your favourite designer?

KP: Anna Sui – She is amazing with ethnic inspired prints and her clothes are always colourful and easy to wear.  Overall I think it is more important how you put clothes together rather than just the individual pieces.

CA: Will you confess to a guilty pleasure?

KP: Dark chocolate, a good crispy French fry, and a chewy peanut butter cookie.
