Would You Wear: Kelly & Jones Wine Perfume

Thursday August 23, 2012 by Alexandra C.

The extent of my wine knowledge comes from watching the movie Sideways and repeating phrases like 'full bouquet' and 'nutty undertones'. While I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between a $10 and $100 bottle of wine, I do count myself as a wine fan and enjoy the occasional glass with a nice meal. Even a wine newbie like me was intrigued when I came across a perfume that promised to not only make me smell delicious, but also claimed to enhance my wine's flavour.

Kelly & Jones is the genius company that has developed five fragrances to be part of a collection called the Notes of Wine Collection. Each perfume is designed with a specific type of wine in mind.

#1 Notes of Sauvignon Blanc: Starfruit, Green apple, Camellia and Yuzu grapefruit

#2 Notes of Riesling: White peach, Anjou pear, Bergamot, Raspberry leaf

#3 Notes of Cabernet: Pink peppercorn, Black cherry, Tobacco flower, Vintage leather

#4 Notes of Merlot: Rhubarb, Mission fig, Red currant, Candied violet

#5 Notes of Chardonnay: Honeydew, Toasted oak, Vanilla blossom, Crème Brulee

The 50 ml bottles cost (US$84.00), rollette perfumes will run you (US$34.00) and a sample pack is (US$20.00).

We had the pleasure of testing out these scents, I was pleasantly surprised and actually liked them all. The perfumes aren't like any typical fragrances. Each one smells different, but they all have a distinct wine smell to them; they're gourmet perfumes and fruity, spicy and floral all at the same time. To be honest, I'm not convinced that they would enhance the flavour of wine but they smell amazing and I would definitely consider buying a full size bottle.

What do you think of the wine perfumes? Have you ever tried or would you try one of these fragrances?

I don't know.... will they actually smell like wine? I don't want to smell like a downtown street bum! Well, minus the pee smell (you know how they smell like alcohol and pee? Yes I know I'm mean).

I'd try them for sure! Love my wine and that sure is a much better way to "wear it"! ;)

I would love to test them out! They sounds like they all smell pretty delicious! As long as it's not too wine-y, I think they'd be lovely! :)
