San Diego: Day 4

Friday March 21, 2008 by Ali

Happy Easter!

It's official: I'm moving to La Jolla. What a gorgeous place! From the lush foliage to the cliffs and views of the ocean and strings of boutiques... I'm in love. We met some friends for dinner at George's at the Cove. Fantastic. Aside from it being a little chilly off the ocean, it was a wonderful experience. I had the seared tuna special and warm chocolate cake for...

A Trip to New Zealand

Thursday March 20, 2008

I Am Fashion dishes on a recent trip Down Under (should this article be categorized under "Wellness" if we're burning with jealousy? Hmmm)...

Usually on a holiday, one of the main attractions for me is the shopping. Even if it is the usual department store stuff I can get back home, I still do it. When it comes to the actual tourist attractions, likes views and such, I am the type to just...

San Diego Day 2 & 3

Thursday March 20, 2008 by Ali

Ok, so I lied. We didn't go wine touring yesterday.  We planned to, but it was so gorgeous we ended up lying by the pool and going for a hike instead.  Though I had slathered myself with sunscreen and lectured everyone else to do the same, I fried like a tourist.  It seems I missed a few patches and am now sporting some bright red stripes down my arms, neck and the bridge of my...

San Diego: Day 1

Tuesday March 18, 2008 by Ali

A 5 hour flight, a 2 hour line up for the car rental and a 2.5 hour drive from LAX and we're here! It was somewhat of a pain getting here but it is so beautiful I really don't care. The resort we are staying at is a dream. Unfortunately it is a bit of a drive to get to San Diego downtown but there is a lot to do in the area including touring wineries - which we hope to do plenty of.

We...

San Diego Bound!

Saturday March 15, 2008 by Ali

We are going on vacation! Well, sort of. We're headed to San Diego California tomorrow for some sun, relaxation and of course, reviewing our favorite spots! Since ChickAdvisor launched in September 2006, Alex and I have had very little down time so this is huge for us. We're also going to be spending some time with one of the most beautiful girls in the world: my 6 month old niece. Ya, I...

Wallet-Friendly Wednesdays: Sephora Airplane-Approved Beauty

Wednesday March 5, 2008

Finally a retailer clues into the horrendous annoyance of shoving your traveling essentials into a flimsy Ziploc bag. Beauty of Life reviews Sephora's 'Airplane Approved' product line...

I've written before about the wonderfulness of Sephora's Airplane-Approved Beauty Products. Traveling is hard enough as it is -- why make it even more difficult by trying to fit tons of...

The Best Time to Fly for Cheap!

Tuesday January 29, 2008 by Ali

Did you know that many airlines will lower their rates at midnight (EST)? Or that weekend specials are usually released on Thursday nights?

No? Neither did we.

That is, until recently when member Spotty posted this article in our forums.

You might want to read that article before you book your next flight. Sweet!

Thanks, Spotty!

Australia: Canada is Safe, eh?

Saturday January 26, 2008 by Ali

Australians Advised to "exercise caution" When Traveling to Canada

For some reason, the Australian government's "Smart Traveller" website is cautioning their public that Canada isn't exactly a safe travel destination:

"Bush and forest fires can occur any time in Canada. You should consult local news reports and authorities before visiting forested areas and follow the advice of local...

Awesome Travel Deals from Travelzoo

Thursday January 10, 2008 by Ali

Sandy beaches, cozy ski chalets, the bliss of doing nothing...

The plan: Escape with 3 best girls to the Dominican for a week to lie in the sun, drink loads of all-included margaritas, get a decent tan, but avoid getting those silly bead braids.

The details: Not worked out yet. Can't get much research done with the boss constantly looking over my shoulder. Honestly don't even know where to...

How to Travel with an Infant

Sunday December 30, 2007

Jet-setting needn't be put on hold simply because you have a baby on board says Ask Patty...

Every holiday season my husband and I drive to my parents' house, from California to Missouri. We usually drive straight through, only stopping for quick breaks, food, and gas. But this year, our son (born on Thanksgiving) came with us....
