|good p.m skincare routine... on Mar 01, 2011 @ 08:03 pm|
I have a great night time skincare routine that includes some heavy duty moisturization! Makes my skin feel and look lovely!

I used to deep condition my hair at night, I should start doing that again.
This article makes me think about how funny some of us look as we get ready for bed, it's like we're going into battle.

Ahhh sleeping on your stomach gives you wrinkles?! That's scary. I like to wash my hair at night since the day after you wash your hair is supposed to be the best in terms of smoothness. I "set" it with a straightening hair gel so it won't dry weirdly and I won't wake up with my hair standing up all crazy. Awesome tips! :)

That sound like the most rigid night routine in terms of hair care... wow! My hair always goes kinky if I sleep on it after it's washed

I much prefer to wash my hair in the evening, allow to air dry and then fiddle with it in the morning. If I try to straighten it that same day, it's always a disaster because of my natural volume (read here - overwhelming). If I need to shampoo in the morning, I use a curl enhancer on my waves and wear my hair that way. It just won't behave otherwise!
I also always drape my hair up over the top of my pillow, but not because I'm trying to achieve a certain look - it's so it won't get in my face!
I'm a back sleeper, and I notice that if I roll onto my side in the night I wake up with pillow face that won't go away for quite a while.
@Lauren - my hubby doesn't want me to wear creams or hair treatments at night. He also feels like I'm prepping for serious business (and not the kind he has in mind - yes, you know what I mean!).

Silk pillow covers will reduce wrinkles!

Usually I wash my face thoroughly with spectro jel or with a sea salt, warm water homemade scrub to get all the skin build up off before bed. And lately since I HATE blow drying my hair straight anymore. Now with my hair wet I spray Iso curl bounce spray all over and then put it in a braid. When I wake up in the morning my skin is ready to go for make up and my hair has really nice hippy & rippling waves. :)

Sea salt makes your skin gorgeous and clear... just be careful not to scrub or they may scratch your skin

I actually like to get some socks that are infused with shea butter or some other moisturizer from Bath and Body Works and sleep with those socks on. They're so comfy, warm, and moisturize your feet! I also heard somewhere your quality of sleep can increase quite a bit if you wear socks. It keeps heat in your body and makes you wake up less and sleep solidly apparently. I do find it works for me.
