A Better Foundation? MUFE Mat Velvet vs. MUFE HD Cover Foundation

Hello ladies!

Does anyone know what is a good foundation for oily/combination skin? I heard that Make Up for Ever Mat Velvet. Matifying Foundation is really good, but they also have their new HD Invisible Cover Foundation.

Anyone tried them? How do you think that they compare? I am curious to know if the HD one is just a marketing scam.. or if it's actually really good....

HD less reviews on Sep 04, 2008 @ 12:45 am

Hey Artist!
I read good things about the Matte Velvet. The HD is new so it has less reviews.
I haven't tried.
I've read they are very similar, but the the HD hasn't been reviewed enough to compare them.

Thanks tiffani! on Sep 06, 2008 @ 02:05 pm

I have heard really good things about Mat Velvet. I have been looking for a good foundation for a long time. Foundation is one of those products I would rather splurge a little on.

There are many cosmetic companies now that are coming up with HD make up.. and I'm not sure if that's just trend thing. When Cargo came out with their HD line, many other companies followed suit. I am not sure if they are worth it.

I think I will give Mat Velvet a try. Thanks tiff!

Me too on Sep 08, 2008 @ 11:03 pm

I use Bare Escentuals right now and am getting sick of it. Foundation
is hard -and I too- will shell out the big bucks for it. I might try
Studio fix, (I read reviews like its my part-time job) and have heard
that it turns your face white in pics.

The reviews on Matte Velvet are very good and the only complaint is
that is is heavy and sometimes drying. I have been considering it for
sometime too.

Smooth Operator? on Sep 09, 2008 @ 11:58 pm

Hmmm... that is interesting tiffani! I had Bare Escentuals too.. but I found that it made my face too shiny at times. Worst part was that I only noticed it in photos after - ah!

Another one that I have tried which is ok is Tarte Smooth Operator. It's not drying at all and it's about medium coverage I would say. It doesn't make you look "matte" either, it gives you more of a dewy look.

You can read my review here!

Oh and it's kind of expensive too. But it was one that I liked. I'm trying to see what else is out there....

Maybe I will see if I can try a sample of MUFE Mat before deciding on any purchases.
Thanks again for your feedback! : )
