I have bob hairstyle and my hair is at the bottom of my neckline now.
my hairdresser cut the layers, so my hair looks quite short. I'll attend a party next Tuesday, and can't style hair properly. any ideas on how I could style
it to make it look a lot of volume?

Try the Got2Be Fat-Tastic Thickening mousse here
I have it and it really gives you a full volume look similar to what you get if you backcomb your hair, without having to actually backcomb.
Your haircut sounds great! I would suggest using this mousse to add volume, use a shine spray to tame flyaways and and sport a smexy smooth bob. If you want to be daring, then why not snap in a highlight or two under your first layer to give it some interesting colour?

Backcombing your hair will add volume to it, it's usually only used for updos and bouffant styles though.
Like @Becky suggested try using a thickening or volume product. I like Sally Hershberger's Plump Up Thickening Spray
http://www.chickadvisor.com/item/sally-hershberger-plump-up-thickening-mist/ and also Garnier's Volume mousse which I forget the exact name of but I believe it is this one here:

|Hot rollers on May 15, 2012 @ 10:09 pm|
Teasing and invest in some hot rollers (about $30 at walmart)! Apply the rollers at your roots and secure tightly while working on the rest of your hair. Once you are done with the rest, take the rollers out and tease at the crown, hope this helps!
