Beauty Box Subscriptions

on Mar 25, 2016 @ 08:13 am

I'm thinking about singing up for a few. Please let me know what your experience has been, which ones are good and which ones to stay away from. I don't want anything that is specific to one product i.e. only nailpolish or only lipstick. I want variety products and preferably ones you can pick and choose or get full size samples.

I welcome all input! Thanks in advance chicks :)

I love my tipsy bag. You always get high end products and they never send the same thing twice.
I just cancelled my top box because the products repeated too much.

Thanks! What brands, products and sizes have you received and what's been the best item you've ever received?

makeup - NYX, makeup forever, smashbox, thebalm, it cosmetics, tarte, tre'stique, Elizabeth mott . Those are just a few. The makeup comes in sample and full size products depending on what it is. Eyeliners, mascaras and lipsticks are almost always full size.
Brush- I can't remember the brush names but they are always full size. Luxie is a brand I got twice but different types of brushes. And they are amazing
Nail polish - formula x , china glaze, absolute . Only once have I got a sampler size so almost always full size
Skin products - Dr Brandt, Burt's bees, nourish organic. Always sample size.
Hair care - don't remember brands but always sample size except once I got a full size mousse

Although there are sample sizes they are always a deluxe sample never something small. And the best part is you can change your profile as much as you want if you don't want to get certain types of products.
After exchange rate it's a little over 20 but we'll worth it because the brands are high end.

Sorry my fave product was the tarte bronzer. I use it everyday.
On top of getting 5 products you get a cute bag and if you review what you receive you get points which you can redeem for things to add extras to your next bag.
If you decide on this bag please use my link becuase I get referral points and I think you don't have to wait on the waiting list as long with a referral.

fabfitfun is good. It is about $50.00 for the box and they only send out for a 4 for each season but you get full size products. You don't get to choose what comes in them but you fill out a survey about what stuff you like. I love the boxes. I have yet to be disappointed.

Another great one is NatureBox. Its 5 or 10 health snacks. For 5 its 19.95 a month and for 10 I think its 39.95.

Thanks chicks on Mar 25, 2016 @ 03:46 pm

Keep 'em coming - let me know what you subscribe to

I've received ipsy since August. I really like it. Only gotten 3 things I didn't love. You review the products and as you do, it tailors your bag more perfectly for your likings. Plus, you get points for reviewing items you receive and can spend them on stuff once you accumulate enough.
I've received concealer brush, blush brush, liner brush.
Countless full sized lip and eye pencils - OFRA, Urban Decay, ModelCo, Coastal Scents, Skone, Paula Dorf are a few. And a few half size eye liners.

Lipsticks(mostly deluxe sample sizes but some nearly half size) - Pacifica, the balm, Trestique and Noyah but can't remember the other brands off hand.

Eyeshadows - NYX, Blinkle, Luxie.

Nail Polish - 2 full size and 1 small. Trust fund Beauty, Aurora, FormulaX.

Other stuff has been deluxe samples of night cream, facial scrubs, dry shampoo, face oils, makeup removing wipes, hairspray, rollerball perfume, face mask, mascara, brow powder, illuminator.

Other brands are Urban Decay, Nourish Organics, Jessie's Girl, Living Proof, Avene, Jelly Pong Pong, Smashbox, Befine.

And their customer service is outstanding.

Once in transit a product was damaged and they immediately sent a replacement. And once my bag got 'lost' by the carrier. I had a replacement within a week.

That's awesome customer service. Thanks for that info!

Topbox/Luxebox on Mar 25, 2016 @ 10:44 pm

I had great experiences with Ipsy customer service, but I found it took a while to arrive from the States and before I cancelled it in July of last year, I wasn't really getting the kinds of products I wanted. A lot of cheap or even expired samples were getting sent out in subscription boxes then.

I would recommend Top Box or Luxe Box (now owned by the same company). I really liked Top Box because it was around $12 canadian per month and tended to have good size samples or full size products. You would typically get 4 products but each month you can opt in to try and get some specially branded boxes - Benefit, Elizabeth Arden, different brands. I would also recommend not signing up for too many boxes at once, because in my experience that means receiving a lot of the same samples!
Good luck and let us know which one you pick! :)
