One of my friends recently asked if I've ever used coconut oil for my daily beauty regime-- I hadn't, so I thought I'd ask around. I have read some interesting thing on it, and they all look positive- especially for women with sensitive skin, and those wanting to prevent early aging- wrinkles.
Anyone tried it?

I've personally never tried it, but I guess if you have dry skin (like me!) it would be worth a try. Coconut oil is super beneficial for dry hair so it might help dry skin too. The only thing I would be very cautious about is it might cause breakouts. Especially for those who don't need the extra moisture.
I'm looking around for a good moisturizer, maybe I'll just try that instead.
I know my dad always recommends Sesame seed oil and Olive oil, both are common as body oils (not sure if anyone but my dad uses these on their face) but he's a big health nut and loves organic stuff, especially when it comes to creams and toothpaste.

I love Coconut Oil.I use it on my face(I have very sensitive skin and a few wrinkles) I also use it in my hair and for my skin in general. It absorbs really well into the skin making it feel really soft and not greasy. Its also really good at healing skin conditions. If I get a mild rash it very soothing on the skin.
As for my hair it makes it super shiny and really strengthens the follicles.Coconut Oil is also really good in soaps if you make soap or buy a good quality soap if you see coconut oil as an ingredient your getting a good quality soap. The best one to try is Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.Also always store it in your fridge :)
Try it Dolce you will love it!

@bren581- this is really great advice! I will let my friend know about your experiences with it, and I may give it a try as well. I love the idea of going as natural as possible, especially in the things you put in and on your body. My only concern with it was break-outs, but from what I've read, it seems to react great with acne prone skin and sensitive skin, which is great!

I am the same way I love using simple natural products because they usually work best I find.I have very sensitive skin with breakouts if I'm not careful and use something that doesn't agree with my skin.I have never broken out from using coconut oil at all!I read somewhere that it is acatully anti-bacterial so that explains why it works so well on rashes etc.So it should actually clear up a acne/pimple prone skin. Then again everyone's skin is different.Just get a small amount from a health care shop such as Whole Foods and try it out if it doesn't agree with your face you can use it for bath/rashes/skin moisturizer etc so many uses you cant go wrong to give it a try.Good luck :)
