Color palettes for eyeshadow

on Sep 17, 2007 @ 10:34 am

It's time for me to throw out some old makeup and stock up again. I was looking at the color combos from Almay - for green, blue, brown, hazel eyes. I have some of those shades already and tried them out in the combinations Almay sells. Even though I blend, it still looks like I was punched in the eye. It just seems like the colors are too dissimilar to work well together.

Am I applying it wrong? Is it just me who thinks it doesn't look right? Makeup Junkie - are you there?

"Blue Eyes" here wants to know too on Sep 17, 2007 @ 11:31 pm

I have the same issue and I have deep set eyes and heavy lids. That makes for a lovely impression . . . where's the steak ? On top of that, I am nearsighted so my eyeglasses reduce the appearance of my eyes, making them look smaller. That is another challenge.

For me, I've just resorted to basic eyeliner and mascara because everything else is just overdone. I use a brush and blend well, but I just don't have enough eyeball to work with . . . do you find you have the same problem mamaluv?
