I have very dry itchy skin. Which moisturizer do you recommend for daily use?

Cetaphil on Jul 01, 2014 @ 01:55 pm

I love Cetaphil's UVA/UVB Defence Moisturizer. It's really gentle on skin so you can use it everyday and it really helps hydrate while also protecting your skin from the sun (which can also cause it to dry out). If you want to check it out I would recommend buying it at Walmart because I find it is always a couple dollars cheaper there, if that's a significant factor. :)

Aveeno on Jul 03, 2014 @ 12:32 am

I swear by Aveeno products. They have a soothing oatmeal base which is wonderful for really dry skin. If you think it might be Eczema, they also have a lotion meant for that as well. Try also the Aveeno Oatmeal baths - place a pouch of the powder in your warm bath water and soak for at least 20 minutes. Sooths your irritated skin. Apply lotion to damp skin after your bath to lock in the moisture.

CeraVe products on Jul 29, 2014 @ 05:39 pm

I really like CeraVe's Moisturizing Lotion a lot. It's a little more than commercial brands. It's great for sensitive and eczema types. They have a good line of products including cleansers, lotions, and now facial moisturizers. This was recommended to me by my pharmacist. It's developed by dermatologists and non-irritating. Worth trying!

Garnier on Aug 04, 2014 @ 02:46 pm

Lately I've been using Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream for day use. They do have a dry skin (pink) formula but I've found the green version works great for me. I also believe you have to be very careful what you clean your face with when dealing with dry skin. Try something like No.7's Beautiful Skin Melting Gel cleanser or some of the new oil cleansers - feel amazing!

La Roche Posay on Aug 04, 2014 @ 03:58 pm

I have extremely dry skin and my doctor recommended La Roche Posay Lipikar Balm it Immediately soothes dry skin and breaks the vicious cycle of itching to restore long-term skin comfort. Its a little pricey compared to to regular moisturizers but it really really works...my skin was itchy and flaked in some area before i started using this,it can be found a Shoppers Drug mart.http://www.en.laroche-posay.ca/products-treatments/Lipikar/Lipikar-Balm-AP-p3452.aspx
