Favorite moisturizers?

I've been nicknamed Snow Bunny for my love of Winter/snow/cold etc. The only down side I can see to colder weather is it often leads to dry skin. A couple years ago I discovered Queen Helene's cocoa butter lotion and I really love it; it's super cheap, smells good (I think), moisturizes very well even in the dry Winter months but it's light enough to keep using during Summer as well, and it's great for face and body. When it comes to lotions and things I prefer to keep it simple so the fact I can have just one bottle for everything makes me so happy; it means less clutter on my shelves... or, more room on the shelves for other things to clutter them. lol

It just got me wondering what everyone else loves to use, particularly in colder weather when a typical "summer" moisturizer/lotion may not be rich enough to keep your skin soft and hydrated anymore.

Anything Aveeno and Wild Sage on Oct 22, 2007 @ 10:01 am

I love anything from Aveeno. I also use the Wild Sage line (I've reviewed it on this site, so I won't bore you with rehashing the details!) which I find really nice - the cleansing products don't strip the skin the way most other brands do, and I find I moisturize less because of it.

Body Shop body butter on Oct 22, 2007 @ 02:01 pm

I wash my hands a lot at work, so my hands are dry even in the summer. Winter gets even worse!!

I love the body butter from Body Shop, particularly the cranberry scent and I stock up on that after X'mas every year. But I find the body butter can be very creamy, so I use it if I have 15 min to just sit and let the body butter absorb.

The other one I used to use is the baby cream from Crabtree 'n Evelyn. That used to be my absolute favourite b/c it works great and smells fabulous. But they changed their packaging a few years ago and I think they also changed the scent. I can't stand the smell now, so I stopped using that.

During the day when I can't just sit and do nothing for 15 min, I use Vaseline brand: Renewal (purple container) or Healthy Hand & Nail (pink container). I find the Renewal is better for winter while the Hand & Nail is good enough for the summer. Both absorb very quickly and smell really good.

AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion. The pump is large enough that I even use it on my legs after shaving - sometimes.

Cetaphil on Nov 06, 2007 @ 01:12 pm

I've been using Cetaphil cleansers and moisturizers for years. It's great for really sensitive sking. I love the moisturizer because it's so gentle on my face and leaves it soft and moisturized. It's been great when I've had an allergic reaction to a product and has cleared up eczema-like rashes right away. It's also gentle enough to use on babies which I have when I've run out of the Johnson's and Johnson's stuff. I've also used it to take off my eye makeup when I've run out of eye makeup remover and it's great for taking away mascara mistakes. Just put a little on a q-tip and it's gone. You can also use it all over the body but I use so many different body butters. I can't just have one I have to all different kinds and all different scents.
