i have been looking for years for a foundation that matches my skin tone, i have really fair skin and everything seems to be either too dark or too pinky. most lines do not carry shades light enough. i also want something sheer enough so that my freckles are not entirely hidden. any suggestions?

My friend has been in the exact same dilemma and I'll say to you what I said to her — BB Cream! Not only does this godsend of a cosmetic even out your skin tone, but it nourishes and gives you the perfect semi-sheer coverage you're probably looking for. Although most Beauty Balms have been criticized due to the fact that few of them catered to pale skin, there's actually quite a few of them that do and they're all within a reasonable price range. For starters; Dr.Jart has been praised many times by those who have a fair complexion. I'm assuming that it's because this company was founded in Korea, where fair skin is not uncommon, so you could start with that. Another product you can look into is Maybelline's Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream. Good luck!

Go in to Sephora. They have a tool that can match your skin tone to different foundations in their store.

I like my Stila CC cream! I'm very fair as well, with freckles that I don't want to cover up. The Stila CC cream blends beautifully, and is sheer enough that my freckles aren't hidden away. The colour is a tad darker than I woul dlike, though. Too Faced makes some good Beauty Balms as well, with a larger selection of shades (particularly for fair tones) as does Tarte.
