What's a good foundation that will cover blemishes and if possible pimples too but won't look cakey. I have dry skin and I'm in need of a good foundation hopefully that can give me a natural look but good coverage & won't make me breakout.
-Thanks in advance...
|Concealer instead of foundation on Aug 19, 2010 @ 03:44 pm|
I never break out the way I use to when I was younger (which was pretty bad) but one wrong product on my face and boom! My face is breaking out like crazy! Over time I have found what works for my acne prone skin and what covers but won't make it worse or give me new breakouts. I use concealer instead of foundation, you just need to learn how to apply it correctly so that it covers your skin, but doesn't look like you're wearing a mask. I AM IN LOVE with PHYSICIANS FORMULA CONCEAL RX!!! I love this concealer because it hides anything that my face has ever thrown at it and it hides it beautifully. I use it all over my face, but be very very careful not to use too much because then you will look like you're wearing a mask, I just dot it on my finger and rub it between my fingers and then I pat it on my face, by dotting it slowly on your fingers you can slowly build your desired coverage so it looks natural, then once I'm done with the concealer I use a bronzer and sweep it over my cheeks forehead and chin and it looks so natural when I tell my friends I'm wearing makeup they don't believe it. I hope this works for you!

I have dry sensitive skin with breakouts as well.I use Serum Vegetal Age solution natural day cream. It is a tinted day cream so I'm defiantly getting moisture for my dry skin and some coverage of imperfections on the skin. Its from Yves Rocher.I just find most foundations I use are to heavy for my skin.I love this stuff!

Jovanna, I have been using Revlon New Complexion foundation makeup for over 25 (!) years and I still love it. My skin can be sensitive and dry at times (also oily too) and I still get breakouts from time to time. This makeup feels very light, it evens out my skin tone very well and it helps to make my skin look (almost) flawless. I recently bought a bottle for $11.99 so the price is quite reasonable. You can buy it at Walmart for about that price. I really like it alot, it's the only foundation I use. I hope this info helps you. Good luck with your research!

Like you I also have dry skin, especially around my cheeks. The best thing for that would be to really care for your facial skin by toning and moisturizing. I just started using a type of hydration product called AQUA GEL. I'm using a foreign brand, but I believe NARS and H2O carry it as well. It works REALLY WELL to hydrate your skin, before you moisturize, and since using it my skin's complexion and hydration has been perfectly balanced.
As for foundation I'd suggest Bare Minerals, or some sort of mineral foundation. It's great for keeping moisture in your skin, and it has properties that reduce blemishes. It's not for everyone though, and CAN form patches if you don't have well hydrated skin. Could always give it a try at Sephora :)
I hope this helps! Good luck!
