Good salons for straightening/relaxers (T.O)

on Jun 21, 2013 @ 08:28 pm

I've got curly, the big loose curls. Unfortunately I also don't look good with long hair (the luck...) and therefore wear it short and straighten it for edgier looks. Anyways finally tired of spending an hour trying to tame it, especially now university has started. Anyone know of any good places in Toronto for japanese straightening or a plain relaxer?

Side Effects of Perms on Jun 21, 2013 @ 09:21 pm

I feel your pain sister! Although I can't recommend any good salons in Toronto, I have had my hair permed four times in Asia over a span of six years as it's ridiculously overpriced in Calgary. It costs less than $100 CAD if you ever decide to travel there (: Just a word of caution though, my hair is extremely dry, prone to split ends, and breakage after the perms so unless you can deal with the repercussions, I would advise against it. Besides, straight perms only look good/last for up to six months. I just wear my hair naturally wavy nowadays and wish I never processed my hair to this extent.

Side effects? on Jun 22, 2013 @ 10:49 am

haha Toronto really does suck for salons doesn't it? I actualy had a perm done before (then coloured it right after lol). I didnt really have the crazy side effects. Sure it was a bit dry, but nothing a little deep conditioning couldn't fix! Only problem was I did it for cheap at this portuguese place and the texture wasn't completely even...
