I was looking at this list of hair styles for thin hair. I have very long thin hair and it's been that way for as long as I can remember. I tend to just brush it and go, or throw it in buns or braids. I love having long hair but it's probably just a comfort for me because I always have. My boyfriend recently suggested that I cut it short and mom's been at me to do the same for years. I'm not sure if I will or not but it is fun looking at styles!
I think if I cut it, I'd want it to be like Rhianna's in that link :)
Any ladies with thin hair that have any styles that they'd like to suggest? :)

I love it! I recently cut my hair from half way down my back to just a little longer than Rihanna's is in that photo and I loved it! It was so light and airy and easy to manage! If you're in the mood for a change, I think that's a great one! :)
this is the one I used!

I've had my fine hair the same way you have for most of my life, but
these pic's don't look like they have fine hair to me. At least not near
as fine as mine. I don't think I could even pull off these looks with
my fine hair. I guess you never know unless you try. Thanks for sharing
this with us.

Your hair looks great in your photo, vlicious, you pull it off well! :)
I love that style but I understand what takoda is saying in that even those 'fine haired' stars have thicker hair than I do :P
I'm sure I would love the feel of it being short... I'm just very nervous about it. You can't glue it back on and it might take forever to grow back :P
But I've always loved that longer in the front, shorter in the back look :)

I have fine shoulder length hair.I get shorter layers and some texturizing through it so it looks fuller. My hairdresser keeps trying to get me to have bangs but I'm to scared to try she said hairdressers call bangs natural botox lol apparently bangs make you look much younger.I may try one day.
@siren if your going to cut your hair maybe just take baby steps lol a little shorter each time if you cut to much off after being used to your length it may be to much and you cant glue it back on :)

@bren - it's totally true about the bangs! You get instantly younger! When I got them last summer (full blunt bangs) people were guessing my age at about 5 yrs younger! :p that's the highlight to my story... I actually hated them on me and grew them out! Good news is the grow SUPER fast! So even if you work up the courage to try them, just rest assured in a week, they'll already be long enough to pin back! (that's what I did for a few weeks!)

Thanks for you point of few vicious..She almost had me ready to try it last time I was in but she said that you do have to do some hair maintenance with bangs eq:blowdry, straighten etc... I'm more wash use a little mouse/gel/leave in conditioner then go...But as you said if I'm not happy I could pin them back :p

As a hairstylist we often suggest shorter hair for fine hair; especially the shorter in the back longer in the front. By having this style youre getting lots of layers in the back which will create lots and lots of volume and movement By keeping it longer in the front it allows people to hold on to their long hair which for a lot of people acts as a security blanket. It also can allow you to style it in so many different ways. I love that style. But if you really want to keep a longer style just ask your stylist to act more layers in the back it's lighten up the hair which will allow it to move and bonce up creating volume. If you don't mind using products... a root lifter it great but be careful on selecting one (ask your stylist for a good one for your hair) I also suggest Redken Root lifter it's amazing on all hair types. Using a good voluminous mousse or product is also recommended used alone or with a root lifter. I always recommended rusk Plumping mousse. It's really light weight and you can't even feel it in you hair all you see is the results!!!
Hope all this helps good luck :)
