What beauty look will you guys be rockin' for the holidays?
My lips have been a dry mess lately so I've been putting all the focus on the eyes but I still love a bold lip with black liquid liner and glowing skin. For eyes, I've been obsessed with deep shimmering purples and navy blues. But my classic smoky eye is usually chocolate bronze. Right now, I'm loving NARS Mekeong, a shimmery espresso - so perfect for the holidays!
Oooh... NARS Mekeong shadow sounds really pretty! on Dec 15, 2009 @ 05:52 pm
Joy, I just got NARS Eurydice Duo eyeshadow and I am totally in love with it!!! It's part of holiday collection. Not sure if you've seen it yet... but I'm sure you have ;)
I love a bold red lip (matte or glossy!) with black liquid liner as well. Soo pretty. But I also like glittery smokey eye with a neutral lip for the holidays for a little more glamour ;)

Ohhh that duo from Nars is soo pretty!! Love the holiday stuff because you can always go a little extra with the glamour :) What are you up to for the holidays??

I love shimmery browns too! But I just got NARS Night Porter, a dark green with gold shimmer, which I am totally going to rock during holiday parties.
I naturally like greens with golds during the holidays. I wear a neutral pink lip to balance it out.
I'd LOOOVE to wear my bold red lip but I'm too chicken to wear it outside the house. LOL. It's such a waste!
Do it! on Dec 16, 2009 @ 03:09 pm
Ren1, just rock that red! lol Maybe do baby steps...start out with a sheer gloss, then work up to a stain (use your lipstick as a stain, apply with fingers), then mix a gloss with a lipstick for a slightly fuller colour, then graduate to your beautiful red lippie! :)
You have to wear it at least once before the new year! We need proof too k? haha

Like the nerd I am looked up Night Porter and Mekeong shadows on Sephora to look at the colours... they are so so gorgeous! This has turned into a NARS make up discussion... LOL
Ren1 you should totally rock the red lip! I think it would look great on you! :) I'm like that too.... not brave enough to do a bold red lip, it feels a little too unnatural for me. Great suggestion Joy, about trying it out as a lip stain first! I think I might try that too. Baby steps... lol

Artist you are hilarious! I think I know someone who does that too. *cough*
One of these days I will wear my red lipsticks. I'm just afraid my hair will stick to my lips then smear red lipstick all over my cheeks. I need tips on how to keep my lip colour in tact. Any ideas?
Hmm... I am wondering the same thing. on Dec 20, 2009 @ 03:29 pm
lol.... I am actually going to go to Sephora and check them out in person too :$ HAA
That's a good question... I have long hair and I hate it when it sticks all over my mouth! Any tips for us Joy? ;)
where to get that red, to make heads look over? on Dec 20, 2009 @ 06:40 pm
I really would love to rock the red lip this year, as being I always see it and just want - for once - to be able to pull it off, without looking like I got the wrong shade, I won't a real true red, if I was ever to pick one right now to try, I'd go with Outlast All Dat Lipcolor in Ever Red-dy by CoverGirl but still would like to know who's already rocked the rouge lip, and what brand really appealed to them.
PLUS- to attempt to help with the dry lips issue, I'd suggest finding a lip shade in a moisturizing lipstick. That should be the fix but I'm no expert ! :)

If you're going to wear a red glossy lip my suggestion would be to wear you hair back in a chic ponytail or up-do.
Otherwise, do a red lip in one of those long-wear formulas like Warrior suggested or do a stain.
If you need a hydrating lip formula like a creamy lipstick there is a
chance your hair could smear it a little across your face. My advice is
to apply your lipstick then blot with a tissue just a little so that
there is still the moisturizing factor but most of the colour will
stick to your lips and not your hair. Or wear your hair back ;)
I finally did it! on Jan 02, 2010 @ 11:16 pm
Hi Ladies! I finally wore my red lipstick... and it feels so good! It totally brings out a different side of me, different than wearing a smoldering smoky eye!

Does anyone else have pictures of their holiday makeup? I'm always gathering photos for my "ideas" folder.
