I have hooded eyes and to be honest...it sucks! But there is nothing I can do about it so I wanted to ask you ladies how you apply your shadow to make it show up? whether it's on your self or clients...I love how my shadow turns out with my eyes closed but when I open my eyes it all disappears. Help please :)

Have you ever tried some eyeliner on the outer corners or maybe highlight under you brows to really bring out your eyes. I'm sure you have beautiful eyes. Let me know how it turns out.

Crease on Mar 04, 2015 @ 11:20 am

When apply your crease color, extend it slightly above your crease to create the illusion of a wider lid. Also, apply a light cream shade to your browbone and your inner tear duct area to help brighten your look.

I have hooded eyes too, and these are some really awesome sites that helped me:

And like chrissyann123 said, try applying liner to just the outer corners of your eyes. I do this with darker, shimmery colours (like brown or plum) and it looks awesome.

I also like to put a light shimmery shade on my lids, and then a more matte, deeper shade in my crease and up (toward my brow bone). The matte shade in the crease area (basically on the hooded part!) helps create more depth and brings more attention to your actual eye. It's almost like contouring for your eyes lol. Also, you can try putting a little bit of your eye shadow on the lower lid (under your lower lashes) to help the colour show up more when your eyes are open.

Hope some of this helps!! :)

Liner on Mar 04, 2015 @ 01:40 pm

You both added some great tips! I only line my outer lid as this makes my eyes look more awake and I only use brown liner. Black seems to be too harsh for me since I have light eyes and it only makes them look smaller.

Oh goodness are my eyelids hooded. As I've started aging, they have gotten so bad, that you could pin them up with a thumbtack! Haha. I like to use a jumbo soft eyeliner pencil and trace under my browbone and a bit on my eyelid. Blend it in softly with your fingertip and I also use the pencil to trace along the outer portion of my eyes, by each nostril. Blend that in softly and it highlights your eye area. Also, if you're tired or just want your eyes to appear bigger-line the inside of your lower lash line with the white eyeliner. It makes your eyes pop and looks amazing. I bought a jumbo soft pencil-almost crayon like-since you don't need to be tugging at your eye area. Fill in your brows with a little shade darker than what yours are. I use a pencil or the gel fibers for this. The gel fibers work best and look more realistic. My old eyebrows are fading fast-wish they had a treatment for it like they do for baldness!! I hope this helps. Ginger
