As a thrifty-minded person, I'm always looking for a better deal or cheaper option. With that being said, I am an absolute makeup addict, and I often find myself lustfully browsing high-end makeup online. I've yet to make a very expensive purchase in the makeup aisle, but I am starting to wonder if I should venture down that path or not. I am a strong believer in finding a cheaper dupe whenever possible, but I'm also looking for quality in that cheaper product. How do you all feel about buying expensive makeup? What products would you recommend splurging or saving on? What products have you splurged on only to find it was ineffective or that there was an equally effective and less costly dupe for it?

I love to splurge on skin care, its very important for me to have a good face, eye cream.
Also mascara is one of those purchases where I might not look at the price.
So far I have had a great experience with high end makeup/skin care. Havent had many regrets :)

I definitely agree with you about having good skin care products. I've never spent a whole lot on a mascara but I've found a few holy grails at the drugstore! What are your preferred products in high end skin care and mascaras?

If the cosmetic really works. I will splurge on it. Especially with makeup and skincare most of the time you get what you pay for. Sometimes if you buy it too cheap you have to use much more or don't even know whats in it. I look for coupons #Vichy gives out great coupons, #CoverGirl ,#Maybelline or I use #ShopperDrugmart Points that also helps get you free products, Or money off.

I have a weak spot for Lancome, will buy their skin care, wont spend on their makeup though, unless i get it as samples or freebies. I have found other brands that makeup wise work as fine for much less. And Lancome mascara actually was my big disappointment :/
I also like Vichy, Clarins and Clinique for skin care.
I like MAC mascaras, DIOR - my guilty pleasure :)

I splurge on my primer (smashbox), bronzer( too faced) and mascara either tarte, or too faced "better than sex")
I've found that since I got an ipsy subscription I've found both the high end and bargain stuff I would like to spend money on. Sure, there's some duds...but I've really learned what I like, and don't have to worry about blowing a bundle on a high end item I hate.

I splurge on skincare products and lipstick.
I love Dior and Shiseido

There are definitely many items I buy cheap, but sometimes it's worth the extra cash. Anything from Lush for example, I'm willing to fork out the extra money for.
|Splurging on a few things - lol! on Jun 24, 2015 @ 04:54 pm|
There are some items that I just adore and work amazing for my skin and age - so I don't mind spending the extra cash - Guerlain, Shiseido, Clinique, Urbay Decay, Clarins, Benefit, MAC and Nars just to name a few - lol! Other items I have found I am quite happy with the "drugstore" type brands which when you use the right product are amazing and inexpensive too.

|Splurge if it's Natural!! on Jun 26, 2015 @ 03:21 pm|
I think it's very important that if I'm going to splurge on high-end makeup, it has to be natural based and even do something for my skin health. I really like Mingle Cosmetics because they offer high-powered, long-lasting products with naturally based ingredients. I've also found beneficial results from using them, the foundation is full of Vitamin C and boosts collagen production in skin. My skin looks so smooth and beautiful with it on because it's full coverage but weightless and not full of chemicals. I highly recommend checking out their entire line!
