How long do you guys wait before throwing out your used makeups but you no longer use, aka, what's the expiration date for you?
And what about makeup you do use but you've been using for a long time? Do you throw those out or do you wait until its all gone?
I've been using a concealer for two years now and I'm kind of grossed out. Not sure why though... I guess I just like the idea of new products. (I know it's kind of a waste of money. :/ )

Depends on the makeup. If it goes near my eyes, and I've had any eye infection, I throw it away immediately. Smell is a good indication on whether a product is still fresh. Also, if you've had it for two years, do you only use it occasionally? I just had a flood under my vanity sink, and had to throw a lot out, due to risk of contamination, and was surprised at how many things I had purchased that failed to meet my expectations , but kept anyway.

Yeah, I don't wear makeup everyday. And when I do, it's usually just a dab here and there.

I have been taught that no longer than 6 months for any eye makeup. Foundations, skin powders told to throw away after nine months. Apparently your skin differs summer and winter so as each season passes be picky about what you use. I do respect that we pay alot of money for makeup but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Mascara and liquid liner I replace every few months. If it's a pencil liner that's still in good condition, I just keep sharpening it to keep the tip fresh, and gel liner usually dries out before I can use it all.
Eyeshadows I keep. I have palettes I've used for years. The quality and pigmentation is still excellent. As long as you keep your brushes clean, and aren't using products while you have an infection, I don't see the issue. I've never had any problems.
Lipsticks I also keep, until I've either used them all up or they've gone bad (but that's rare, I find). Lip glosses I ditch after about a year, if I haven't used them. The tubes tend to gunk up with product, but I don't wear much gloss these days anyway.
For face products, liquid concealer I'll use until it's gone. Powder I'll switch out every 6 months to a year, depending on the product. As for blush, I've had the same MUFE cream blush for about two years without hitting pan, and it hasn't dried out or gone bad in any way, so I'm happy to keep using it.
For a long time I wasn't wearing makeup because I wasn't feeling well and couldn't put forth the effort, so it's not until quite recently that I've started wearing it again. I don't wear it every day, I don't wear too much, and I keep everything extremely clean, so things last me a very long time while still remaining completely hygienic.

One thing I forgot -- Anonymous pointed out that the change in seasons requires different makeup. You only need to buy different face makeup for summer and winter if your skintone and type tends to change. Some people tan in the summer and have more oily skin, while staying more pale and dry during the winter. This doesn't effect me personally, as I stay the same shade of natural ghostly white all year round ;) But it may be worth looking into if you find the same face makeup doesn't suit you during different months of the year.

I usually keep makeup until I get tired of it or,if something new comes along and I want to try it.I buy a lot of makeup because I wear makeup24/7.Even if I'm home for the day,I always put on makeup. You never know who is going to knock on your Door.Makeup is a fun thing for me and I love trying new things when it comes on the shelves.I usually bag up what I don't want or not going to wear anymore and ,I give it to one of my Sisters.
