How much do you spend on beauty products in a month?

I'm always curious to know how much women spend on beauty products. Before I started my blog I used to spend a ridiculous amount that it got to the point I barely had any clothes or food for that matter (I was also young and careless haha)! Are you just a replenisher or do you have to buy something new just to try it? How many of you have passed on paying a bill or eating just so you could buy a new eyeshadow palette or new lipstick? Fess up! haha

in a month... on Sep 16, 2009 @ 06:13 pm

hmmm i would say about $100 make it $200 if I buy a new perfume. While not a makeup/beauty junkie i WILL spend on items I feel are necessary.

definitely not a junkie on Sep 17, 2009 @ 12:56 am

I spend about $100 a month, and that includes everything from body wash to razors to makeup, occasionally more when I need to replace eyeshadows or if I run out of a bunch of stuff at once. I can't say I've put off paying a bill for it, I'll just buy what's on sale or go without if I'm tight on cash.

I feel frugal on Sep 19, 2009 @ 12:34 pm

but in total I would spend around $60 a month. I don't buy a lot of beauty products unless I run out. I don't use a lot of makeup or haircare products and I always try to get it all on sale. This way I can spend more on clothes or going out with friends.
Also I just don't really know what to buy. I have the basics but right now i'm looking into eye creams and better foundation. I just don't know where to start.

Getting frugal... on Sep 22, 2009 @ 02:32 pm

new launches still excite me but I've become a lot more frugal now too. If I do need to buy a beauty product it's always a basic everyday need. I rarely buy a new eyeshadow etc. and hardly buy anything from new launches anymore. I just can't justify spending the same amount on a blush as I would on a shirt!

Bad... on Sep 23, 2009 @ 05:25 pm

I'm pretty bad at this, usually spending $30-$50 a week... for a grand total of up to $200 for the month. Ouch. Fortunately not all launches catch my eye, but there are definitely a few that make my mouth water. LOL.

The hardest time to hold back on spending though is when the holiday launches arrive. That's when they bring out the good deals and pretty colours. :)

Right now I'm on a no makeup buying period until IMATS comes to Toronto in November. Then it will be buy buy buy!

I'm funny, I have a entire drawer of reject beauty products and when I find something that really works for me, I have to have it. Even if its the most expensive stuff out there. I make an effort to try the cheaper stuff first, but indulge once in a while. There are certain things that I cheap out on (moisturizer, shampoo, mascara, sometimes powder) and then others are more expensive and are nessessary for me to spend more money on (foundation, blush, and yes new eyeshadow!)

Depends... on Sep 25, 2009 @ 02:50 pm

I guess normally I would spend about $100/month.... as MeredithK115 said, if I need to buy perfume or something like that, then that total doubles but thankfully I don't have to buy perfume all the time...

Drugstore or High End? on Sep 28, 2009 @ 05:06 pm

so it seems like you guys don't go too overboard which would have made my past-self feel guilty! lol when you're buying your products do you prefer high-end to drugstore or vice versa or is it a combination of both? I find mine are mostly high-end but I do have a good amount of drugstore brand products that have become my staples.

personally.... on Sep 29, 2009 @ 11:41 am

I buy more mid to high end products. I don't wear makeup all the time so when I do I like to wear the higher end stuff. Also I find that it suits my skin tone better and I like the consistency of the products better as well...

i go with what i can afford at the time.. on Sep 29, 2009 @ 09:33 pm

When I shop for makup and whatnot I really love the high end stuff. But most of the time it just isn't within my budget at the time. Most of my items are a combination of both drugstore brands and really high end items.
