Ok so summer's here again and yet again I cannot wear any cute skirts or dresses because I have so many marks on my legs. I went on a vacation to my home country and got bitten really badly by mosquitoes and I scratched it like a dummy and it left scars all over my legs. That was six years ago, and I have not shown my legs outside since! I really want to wear cute skirts but I do not know what product to use that will help reduce the unsightly marks, PLEASE HELP!!!
Tanning spray? on May 13, 2009 @ 10:29 pm
I'm sure the other ladies here will be able to give you a permenant fix to this problem, but my immediate suggestion would be, why not use the tanning lotions / sprays for legs? They will slightly bronze your legs and may help in hiding the marks.

Self tanner is an excellent option because it colors the scars as well as your normal skin, where tanning bed/sunbathing will generally not tan scar tissue.
I have heard good things about Bio Oil. See what other ChickAdvisor members said about it, although it would seem the jury's still out. I picked up a bottle when Walgreens had a sale, but have yet to try it.

I agree with Becky. you should try those spray on tanning/nylons that they sell, and maybe try a powder bronzer to ensure that the colour matches exactly.
Cleanser on May 22, 2009 @ 02:39 pm
Try a good cleanser with glycolic acid. Like Mario Badescu's Glycolic foaming cleansing (Meant for face). Those help exfoliate the skin with glycolic acid rather than abrasion.
I'm not really sure how the cleanser would work with the self tanner/lotion. .. it may strip it away. Perhaps use the cleanser until a week before you want to head to the beach. And start using teh self tanner that week?

try "Sally Hansons Spray On Legs" You can get it in "Nude" or darker color.Just spay a bit on your hands and rub gently on your legs;Looks like you are wearing nylons.
Exfoliating on May 22, 2009 @ 07:29 pm
I'm with mandyf for the exfoliating for a bit before using the self-tanners to even out color.
Glycolics are great. They increase cell turnover adn can reduce some scarring. Don't expect miracles though.
MD SKincare has an Alpha Beat Daily Body Peel that's great.
If after a month of regular use, the scars aren't lessning, then self-tanner will be the way to go! When using glycolics you must use an SPF though. They can make you more susceptible to burning.
Hope that helps!

All these suggestions are great and I will have to see what I can get my hands on first to try out. The self tanners and the spray on stockings are probably the most affordable but I am enticed with the Glycolics so will try them all out at different times.
Thanks again to everyone that replied.

You should use lemons... lemon is a great skin lightener it will lighten and eventually clear your dark scars and marks. get a lemon or lemon juice pour the liquid on a cotton and rub on your legs twice a day until you see results. make sure to hide your legs from the sun until you are ready to wear shorts or apply sun screen before leaving the house.
my legs were gross once too. they still are, but less. on Feb 27, 2013 @ 09:08 pm
My friend genyne once told me that if i soaked my legs in this mixture for 3minutes every wednesday afternoon after choir practice that my nasty leg fungus would fall off.
this is the mixture:
grinded up beef
and anyother beef in your mothers deli drawer
melt some crayola crayons in that shit.
dont let any get above your belly button or your freckles each individually explode.
my name is not genyne. that is my friend.
