I love glitter nail polishes and top coats - especially on my toes!  I dread having to take it off though - takes forever and ever!  Any tips on what removers work best to make the removal process a little faster and less frustrating?!  Thanks!

glitter nail polish remove on Mar 30, 2015 @ 10:50 pm

I usually put a cotton pad on my nails with nail polish remover and then put aluminum foil around my finger for 5 minutes and the glitter is gone. Hope this helps.

I will definately give that a try - never thought of that! Kinda like what I do to remove my gel nail polish - why didn't I think of glitter too?! Thanks!

Plastic wrap on Mar 31, 2015 @ 12:39 am

I've tried it but found the aluminum foil to be irritating - plastic wrap works as well and is a little more comfy if you need to be moving around

Great tip that I too will give a try! Glitter polish is my favourite but as we all know it can be stubborn to remove.

cotton ball on Apr 01, 2015 @ 01:40 am

I take a cotton ball, pull it apart (make sure the piece will cover the entire nail), dip it in nail polish remover, place it on the nail, leave it on for a minute, not even, push the cotton upwards.

Tip on Apr 02, 2015 @ 03:07 pm

I just use nail polish remover and use these round cotton pads that are used for removing makeup, you can get them pretty much anywhere and also this is new, if you have New York Color nail polishes where you live they have this new one called strip me off base coat that you can easily take off your glitter nail polishes or regular nail polishes. All you do is apply and when you put your nail polish on and want it off it'll peel off. Hope that helps.

I will also go on the hunt for the NYC Strip Off Base Coat - have never heard of it! Cheers - Michelle

NYC Strip Me Off is amazing! on Apr 03, 2015 @ 06:43 pm

i love nail polish, but never wear it because my fingers chip quickly and it's a pain to take off. I just bought this product (at Rexall but some SDM's are carrying NYC too so they might have it also) and it's so easy. I doubt you'll get a long wear manicure out it, but it was $2 so you certainly aren't going to gamble a lot on it. I've tried it with the Maybelline Polka Dots and Sally Hansen glitter polish and i'm amazed. The only thing might be, if you have thin nails, i wonder if it would cause issues, but I don't have this so I'm happily having a new polish every day or two for now!
