Yeah I am not a huge fan of liquid eyeliner. When used correctly it looks great but so many people wear it without knowing how to make it look good! My hand is not steady enough to apply it nicely so I don't use it.

I think it can look nice if have a steady hand you make it thin. But the problem is, I find it can look so unnatural when people make it too thick. I like natural better than dramatic.
Tip: If you rest your finger on your face or the mirror when you put it on, it steadys the hand!

Yeah I know what you mean by the steady hand. I have been able to do steady my hand that way but I just find that it is too much effort for the look that I acheive in the end anyway...but that is just me. I have seen it look great on other people...and yes I agree, thin line is better than thick!
How about Suncoat liquid eyeliner? on Jan 20, 2007 @ 03:42 pm
I, too, never really succeeded with liquid eyeliner, although it has been 7 or 8 years since I tried it. But Suncoat, one of our mineral makeup brands at apothena.com, recently came out with a liquid eyeliner. I already have it on order and am excited to test it out. I know Suncoat is available in many shops in Canada - wondering if you have ever tried it? It's available in 5 colors. I'm curious to see the shimmery ones and I wonder how it compares to traditional liquids.
Haven't tried it... on Jan 21, 2007 @ 05:46 pm
I have not tried it but thanks for the name of it. I may just give it a shot and see how it turns out. Once I try it out I will get back to you! :o)

I'd love to hear more about this. I'm very interested in mineral makeup. Please let us know when you've tried it!
wear it everyday! on Nov 15, 2007 @ 01:49 pm
although i do wear it everyday, i dont make the crazy thick lines i've seen. people have even said they dont even notice it, which makes me wonder if i should bother with it. but i do, since its become a habit now. :(.
well, if anyone is in the market for a good eyeliner, which is smudge, water and sweat proof check out MAC's liquid last eyeliners, the application has a learning curve, but i've yet to find a better formula. .. maybe i should write a review.:P
Some tricks from applying eyeliner over the years:
1. If your just starting out, i find ones with the felt tip was the easiest to use. Loreal makes a nice one, so does lancome.
2. there are also gel/cream ones out there that give a similar look to liquid, but not as harsh, staying power is decent, but just not on me. mac has one called fluidline. you buy a seperate brush, i found the angled synthetics the easiest and fastest to use with the pot.
3. right now i'm using liquid last, and yes.. its pretty hard to use, so what i do is use mac's fluidline to make a trace, then use liquid last over it. lasts 8h + for me (i have crazy oily eyelids) when i do it this way and i rarely make mistakes.
hope this helps someone!

I'm really surprised how much I like their liquid liner. I find it the easiest liquid liner to apply that I've tried. Here is the link to my full review:
