I use Garnier BB cream. It lasts all day and provides full coverage for me. I love it!

I have the L'oreal BB cream. It's OK. I'm not opposed to trying the Garnier one. Thank you for the suggestion.

Artistry Foundation. They have different variety, hydrating, balancing; etc. So you can choose what will work better for your skin type. I've been using it for a few months now and have to say it's an improvement over any I've used in the past.

I've been using Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation lately and it's really good. It lasts a long time and it's very light, not thick but still pigmented: http://www.chickadvisor.com/item/urban-decay-naked-skin-weightless-ultra-definition-liquid-makeup/
I would also recommend any of the Make Up Forever foundations. They last a long time and have good coverage.
Also, if you're looking to make your foundation last longer, I would look into getting a good primer to prevent creasing and a makeup setting spray. Try Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: http://www.chickadvisor.com/item/urban-decay-all-nighter-long-lasting-make-up-setting-spray/
|What's your skin type / what are you looking for? on Nov 12, 2012 @ 06:34 pm|
Alexjc gave great tips and suggested awesome brands, some of which I'll echo. First of all start with a good primer. The whole point of a primer is it makes foundation go on well and last an even longer time.
If you have normal to dry skin, Smashbox primers are amazing. Makes foundation go on smooth, and last all day.
If you have oily skin with larger pores you could try the Benefit Porefessionals primer. It really reduces appearance of pores and helps makeup stay on all day.
These two are my current favourites. There are other primers too. Pretty much every brand has their own primer so you can test what you like / dislike. Anything I suggest here is what I own and use so I personally know they're good and works for me and those I've tried them on.
Now for foundation. Again you have to go with what type of skin you have and what sort of coverage you need. If you don't have a lot of pimples to cover up and want something that will even your skin tone and make your face glow, Urban Decay Naked (alexjc suggested above) is great, and Benefit Hello Flawless foundation is incredibly amazing. I have both and I'm especially loving Hello Flawless over Naked right now that the weather's getting drier. I find Benefit's foundation is more moisturizing and illuminating in cold weather. Keep in mind I have dry skin. UD Naked is described as moisturizing too, but as i have dry skin in the winter, it's not moisturizing enough for me. It's an amazing foundation with a luminuous *skin* finish.
If you're looking for full coverage porceline finish, then try Tarte Amazonian 12hr Clay Foundation. Amazing foundation with extreme coverage without looking cakey (if applied right).
Makeup Forever HD Foundation (alexjc talked about this already) is amazing too. There are a lot of reviews here on it. It's medium to full coverage and looks amazing in person and in photos. It's heavier than UD Naked and Benefit Hello.
MUFE also came out with another foundation I believe its called Makeup Forever LIFT foundation. I tried it, it didn't work for me so I didn't keep it. It might work for you, a lot of people love it.
Sorry to repeat myself but you have to figure out what sort of coverage you want and what sort of skin you have (dry / oily / combo).
If you want BB cream then I would suggest Smashbox BB Cream or TooFaced BB Cream. Both are comparable and amazing.
There are a LOT of foundation options. There are some good drugstore brands too I'm sure. I personally have a hard time with drugstore foundation (hard to find colour match, colour oxydizes on me as the day wears on, foundation doesn't last, etc). I personally like spending the extra $ for a good foundation. If you're gonna splurge on one item, let it be foundation. Everything else will look great when your skin looks great.
If you're looking to splurge and you live in Toronto I strongly suggest waiting until after November 20th. Reason is, Sephora is opening a new and BIGGER store with MORE brands right at Eaton Centre!!! I talked to one of the girls working there and the way she described the new store to me.... let's just say it sounds like heaven on earth. You'll have loads more options to choose from, and it's "only" a week away (counting down the days here) so I say hold off and go to Sephora Eaton Centre last week of November to really look at all of your foundation options.
Have fun :)

Here are some great full coverage foundations that are currently available at Sephora that you could try:
Tarte Amazonian clay 12hr foundation
Kat Von D tattoo foundation
Stila Stay all Day foundation
Tarte has a more matte finish. Kat Von D has more luminosity to it. Stila is not as glowy as Kat and not as matte as Tarte.
As I mentioned, Sephora Eaton Centre is going to get many more brands so if you can wait, I would suggest waiting for them. :-)
Also, before committing to a high priced foundation, go to Sephora and have them give you samples of the ones you love. They always give generous samples. Go home, try them all out, wear them for days and figure out which suits you best. Oh and don't forget to take samples of primers too. Foundations last much longer with primers.
On a side note though, all of the foundations I've listed last longer than 5hrs on my skin without a primer but that could be because I have dry skin. Not oily so nothing to slip it off.
Makeup is my favourite topic in all the world :-) I could go on with this forever .... but anyways enjoy your hunt and hope this was helpful.

Thank you ladies for the suggestions. It really helps. I have the oily T zone and dry cheeks. I am looking for a matte coverage. I do use a primer and I have tried the Urban Decay setting spray which I need to add a review for!
|foundation recs on Nov 17, 2012 @ 11:13 pm|
Is it because you have oily skin? that's what happens to me in my t-zone w certain foundations
Mufe Mat Velvet is a long lasting foundation I like, Neutrogena Healthy Skin, altough it might only be available in the States for now, Revlon Colourstay or Asian BB creams have been really good and stay on well, for me at least.
