So, I got my haircut short and I HATE it! My family won't be honest with me because they don't want to hurt my feelings, but I need to know if it really looks as bad as I think it does. I know it's only hair and it will grow back, but it's really hurting my confidence. Thanks for your honesty!

Hi jmkz! First of all, you have great bone structure so I honestly think you can pull off anything. I do not have the bone structure to pull off short hair and neither do a lot of people, though they may not realize it. You do! That means you win no matter what.
But, I can see what you are saying about the cut itself. It feels a bit off balance to me. It's heavier on the top and then on the side they left it sort of wispy. I imagine it's not the easiest to style?
It's hard to get corrections when it's already short, but you could always go for a free consultation to another salon to see what they'd recommend. I know a lot of great salons in Toronto that could help you out but I'm not sure where you are located.
If you decide to just leave it, let it grow a bit and then change it later, just work with it. If you are confident and happy you will look great no matter what because people will focus on your face, not your hair.

... with everything Ali just said. Have you thought about playing with colour a little? If you embrace a sassier look then you might even have some fun with it.

Being someone who recently went through from cry-sessions due to a bad haircut I really know what you're feeling.
First of all, you DON'T look bad AT ALL!!! But I do understand what you mean about not feeling good about your haircut.. i had a horrendous haircut not too long ago, one of my coworkers loved it so much she went and got her haircut just like mine!! Goes to show, one mans garbage, etc.
Looking at your haircut, it looks to me like it's designed to bring more focus to your face. I think you could really rock this look if you coloured your hair a bit and played up your gorgeous to-die-for eyes!
Dark brown eyeliner (thin on top and bottom outer corners of the eye) and mascara on the eyes, medium coverage foundation to smooth out your already beautiful skin, soft blush and coral lipstick / lipgloss.
As for your hair, why not colour it a rich chocolate brown and put warmer brown to dark blonde highlights throughout? And use a round brush to dry it curled towards your face instead of out... it'll give your face a framed pixie look. With your eyes and face shape, you would look stunning!!
This is just my two cents ... but very honestly, you have absolutely NOTHING to feel self conscience about.

You're a gorgeous girl and the hair's not that bad!
Try using some medium hold hair wax.
Take some, rub them between your hands to warm it up a bit, and work it through your hair, scrunching upwards. I think this will give your hair a nice texture, volume in the bottom layers, and a sexy nonchalant look.
Like Meg Ryan!
Give it a whirl, and let us know if it helps!

I agree that you have excellent bone structure and this length really suits you - but hte style just need a bit more pizazz!
