Mac or sephora?

I've never been a MAC girl. I don't know why. I have a good selection of products. I do like Mac but its never been my go to. What am I missing? If you could choose your one fav Mac product and one fav from sephora (any brand they carry) what would you recommend?

I love Sephora - But Mac Prep & Prime is a Must Have! on Sep 15, 2014 @ 12:47 pm

I love Sephora and I love the fact that they carry so many different Brands. That being said - I do use one MAC Product - Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder - that I won't switch out for any other. Not exactly sure what is in the formulation but it just really works well with my skin tone and type. I think my favourite from Sephora has got to be my Instant Brow & Gimme Brow (I use both!). Actually really hard to pick a favourite from Sephora - Oh - Love the Benefit Advent Calendar they carry every year too!

For years I was a Mac girl. They had an eye shadow pallet that was very much like the Urban Decay Naked pallets. The Mac products are all really good but Sephora is definitely my favourite place. While both stores offer you advice on their products Sephora has the variety. Sephora has its own brand that offers you a cheaper alternative to the big brand names that they carry. Sephora offers the best birthday freebie ever free makeup! Sephora has the selection. While Mac is a good brand having the opportunity to buy Stila lip gloss, Smash box primer and Bare Minerals blush all in one store Mac just doesn't compare.

@mommy2boys Benefit Advent Calendar on Sep 15, 2014 @ 01:08 pm

I think the Prime and Prep is def worth the money - about $35 or so - but it lasts quite a while.

I have two girls and each year I buy them the Benefit Advent Calendar and they absolutely go crazy over it! Like the chocolate advent calendars I used to buy when they were little - but filled with Benefit trial size cosmetics - even better - lol! They are not cheap (about $90 - you can buy at Sephora or online from Benefit - but beware they sell out really fast) so I only buy one and they take turns opening a window each day in December but so worth the price and great products too!

I really am not overly impressed with MAC either. I like their lip liners, lipsticks and their mineral skin finish powder. But nothing else.
I really like the selection at Sephora. I really liked Lorac cosmetics but I think they stopped carrying them.

Sephora! on Sep 16, 2014 @ 02:28 am

I used to like MAC but it's gotten pretty expensive over the years. The customer service at Sephora is better. I like the birthday present. They have a rewards card. Plus they have a huge selection of products galore for everything imagined. I like being able to touch and experiment with the products. Also, they offer samples too.
