Does anybody else here double check their make-up or personal care products in http://www.goodguide.com or in the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database (which is down for now) before purchasing? I just ran a few of my favourite products through the good guide database and I'm a bit surprised at the number of carcinogens in products by brands like Aveeno and Physicians Formula who I thought were making safer products?
What are some of your favourite safe products to use? Looks like I'll be rehauling my makeup soon..

I've found that for my acne prone skin, anti bacterial products work best and one of the ingredients I've found useful is Triclosan which is in certain Clean & Clear, Phisoderm and other drugstore cleansers. But then I recently found out that triclosan is linked to weakening of the immune system, abnormalities with endocrine system and uncontrolled cell growth! I couldn't believe it! I'm trying to use tea tree oil instead but I miss those cleansers.

I recommend using Artistry. The company is pretty much obsessed with making more natural, healthy products. Over the past year I've pretty much switched out most of my make up and skin care products for stuff from their line because, well, lets say I'm impressed. I highly recommend their mineral powder (or the non mineral one is good too) foundation, mascara, cleansers and treatment creams. I have skin that's prone to break outs and need to use products that dont clog skin, and their powder foundation liquid foundation is a great mix.
