at first i was going to get both of these, but then i decided i should probably just get one to start. i've never used any of laura mercier's products but i use mufe's hd foundation and like it a lot.
has anybody used either one or both of these?

I actually absolutely love Laura Mercier silk cream foundation but they don't have it in my shade. I think this is The BEST "Full Coverage" foundations out there. If anyone knows of a better full coverage natural looking foundation, I'd love to know!! It goes on like silk, doesn't cake, lasts all day, really covers all blemishes, discoloration, etc. It's like a second -better looking- skin. I tried the colour closest to me and found it truly amazing. It has a "natural" finish. Not drying and not oily either. Unfortunately since the colour really doesn't match, I couldn't buy it :-(

MUFE Matte Velvet is medium buildable foundation with a dry matte finish. I've read a lot of reviews and tested it on my oily friends, it works great on their skin. I've personally never tried it 'cuz I have dry skin, I stay away from matte finish foundations. From the tests I've done, the Matte Velvet is good ... but honestly if you're picking between the two and you want something that truly covers every flaw then I would go for Laura Mercier, provided they have it in your colour. It doesn't look unnatural either, so if you're worried about full coverage not looking "natural", you won't have to worry about it.

Go to a Sephora near you and get samples of both, try them out and see which one suits you better. I love Laura Mercier concealer SO MUCH! It's revolutionary!! I wanted their Silk foundation but... honestly I have half a mind to write to them and ask they expand their colour range! I would if I thought it'd do any good!

If LM doesn't have your colour, try Tarte Amazonian 12hour Foundation. It's natural, bad-stuff-paraben-etc free and it has a mouse texture. Good coverage. It's not Laura Mercier, but it's good too.

Not a "mouse" texture!! It has a mousse texture!! lol ... sorry.

And what I meant to say is if you can't find LM in your shade, then try comparing MUFE Matte Velvet to Tarte Amazonian 12hr foundation.

I always find it's good to compare two competing brands and then make a decision.
