Nail polish bottle's

on Mar 15, 2012 @ 08:27 am

As I use my nail polish I keep getting a build up of
polish around the top opening. This is making the bottle's all sticky
and sometime even very hard to open no matter what brand it is. Is there
any way to keep this from happening? Also is it true that keeping your
nail polish fridge is better then just sitting out? Does anyone have any tip for me?

Nail Polish Care on Mar 15, 2012 @ 10:12 am

While I haven't tried this yet, I did actually watch a youtube video recently where the blogger said to wipe off all that gunk with nail polish remover and then use vaseline or a petroleum jelly around the screw top so it glides easier.

Also check out this blog- She has some awesome tips and tricks for nail polish care!

I have always put my nail polish in the fridge(they have there own special little spot in my fridge lol)Also add a bit of nail polish remover in the bottle and shake it up that will thin out the glunk.I haven't heard of Vaseline around the top that's a good idea.

I thought I had heard that it was good to put it in the fridge, but I
couldn't remember if it was right. I'll try the polish remover trick to,
it can't hurt.
Although my old man is going to come home from out west and think I've lost my mind when he opens the fridge.LOL
It's one way to keep him on his toe's.LOL

De-gunking on Mar 19, 2012 @ 08:52 pm

My friend worked in a nail salon and she showed me the best way to remove that gunk around the top is to use a heavy duty nail polish remover and a Q-tip to wipe around the rim of the bottle and get all of that stuff off then you can just do a quick sweep w/ the Q-tip every once in awhile to ensure that it doesn't get stuck. Also, if your bottle is stuck so badly that you can't get it open no matter what you do, it is sometimes helpful to soak the bottle in hot water so that everything gets loosened up and it is easier to get the cap off.
