I've always had dry skin (on my face) and lately, it has been prone to break outs. Nothing sucks more than trying a new moisturizer, feeling it works, then breaking out like crazy!
I'm on the hunt to find the perfect moisturizer for my dry skin. I used to use Shiseido's Revitalizing Cream, but they discontinued it here and I have not been able to find something that gives me the same relief. If you have any suggestions, that'd be great! I'll name a few that I've already tried though that haven't really helped.
- Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
- First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
- The Purlisse moisturizer thats sent in every sub box
- Clinique (yellow) lotion and gel

I would try something way more natutal if youre so sensitive. "Yes to" is a fantastic line. They have it at my local Shoppers drug mart. There are different lines based on cucumber, tomato, etc and work wonders.

First off, what's your budget? I tend to skew towards the higher-end moisturizers myself (I find they work better) but YMMV. My skin is sahara-desert dry and I find I need to layer several products to get adequate moisture.
A good starter line is the Shiseido IBUKI line - not sure how old you are but it's designed for mid-20s and upwards, and includes toner, moisturizer, and serum. You can often get a trial/travel sized kit to try all the products together! I really liked the moisturizer.

Dramatically different moisturizing lotion.

Coconut oil biologic is very good and cheap . Its also antibacterial ! Works well for me !

Any type of coconut oil works wonders! Smells great (or not at all depending on the brand) and absorbs quickly! I use it everyday with raw Aloe Vera torn directly from the plant. These two ingredients together are magical!! After I wash my face, I apply the aloe first which is a soothing, natural astringent, then the coconut oil. It helped me!
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer on Nov 07, 2014 @ 02:48 pm
I'm surprised you didn't like the Cetaphil moisturizer.. I live by that stuff! Lol.
My favorite everyday facial moisturizer is the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. It's very thick, but not heavy and aborbs quickly. It hydrates like nobody's business. It's a little on the pricey side, but Costco (if you have access to it) sells it in a two-pack for a discounted price.

I really love philosophy hope in a jar. I have really dry skin and swear by it. I've found trial and error works best really. Everyone has different skin and needs. I've tried products friends absolutely love and they did nothing for me. I hope you find one you love!
Neutrogena? on Nov 08, 2014 @ 05:15 pm
I've used Neutrogena's moisturizer for sensitive skin for years. I have combination skin and do break out, especially because of moisturizers. Tried the combination skin moisturizer from Neutrogena but didn't like it at all. I've stuck with the sensitive skin formula with success. It's light and absorbs well. I am finding that I need something a little more moisturizing for winter now though. I also tried Cetaphil and didn't do well with it. Hoping to pick up some coconut oil this week to give it a go.

Here's the link to the Neutrogena moisturizer I was referring to...
Garnier on Nov 08, 2014 @ 07:05 pm
I just picked up Garnier Ultra Lift Night Cream.
It seems okay so far, but doesn't seem moisturizing enough. I'm going to stick with this one for a little longer and see what results I get with it.
Hope in a Jar didn't work for me.
I will definitely look into Aveeno's line!
