Hi there, I think we all have done it or are forced to see a new hairdresser (they left the salon or away on long vacation. OK so you see someone new and the new hairdresser is LATE you were early and the person before you get's seen. You wait 20 to 30minutes what would you do? walk out? leave no tip? Curious

I like sitting in salons and watching girls get "done". :-) I personally would wait. If the hairdresser is good (listens to me, does what i ask, is friendly and professional, apologetic for making me wait) then I would tip.

I tend to tip based on service, how much I like my cut and just my overall experience so if you are constantly waiting and your time is being disrespected then maybe tip less.
If you absolutely adore your hairdresser and cut but it's just that waiting that bothers you, I hate to say it, but you might need to suck it up and roll with it. A good hairdresser is hard to find and if you love it except for that then maybe just accept it.
You could always leave, find another hairdresser or just speak to them before your appointment and say, I have something important right after this, is it possible to be seen as soon as possible?

I wouldn't base it on my first visit. But if he/she wasn't friendly or apologetic, then I probably wouldn't go back again.
I tip based on the job they do with my hair and if they were friendly to me.
I tend to forgive wait times if hairdressers are friendly because if I was in the chair and they needed to go 'overtime' to finish my hair, I wouldn't want them to rush it or cut my time short.
