The it colour for 2012 from pantone was called 'tangerine tango' which is probably the trend you're seeing. I actually think it is very flattering on most people as a lip colour. The trick is to just find the right shade of orange. A tangerine, with hints of red might be more universally flattering than a bright, brash orange.

never really seen anyone rocking this look yet, but i'd like to see it in action. I have yellow undertones in my skin so I dont think this would be very flattering on me, but i'm gonna be on the lookout for someone pulling it off!

I subscribe to a lot of subscription boxes and received one which was a duo (lipstick/gloss). It looks nice in the tube but I have fuller lips so I thought i would look like an absolute clown putting that on. I tried it out in the comfort of my own home (luckily) and although it wasn't as bad as I thought or it could have been it still was not my shade at all. Maybe this is a limp plumper type color?

I find orange lipsticks and blushes super flattering on any skintone. It's just like a red lipstick; it looks great once you find the right one.
Buxom has an awesome orange blush called Euphoria, Tarte has one called Tipsy, but my favourite has to be by Illamasqua called Lover. Beautiful coral orange.
One of my fav cheap orange lip alternative is one of the Revlon lip butters. I'm forgetting the name of it right now, but its a very wearable 'orange' lipstick.

I was photographing a bride at the make up studio, and her stylist had orange lipstick on. It actually looked really cool on her, but I couldn't see myself pulling it off.
