I never use it but when I have had my make up professionally done they always use primer. I just dont like too much on my face.

I finally caved a few years back and got a primer from Body Shop. Didn't really noticed the difference. Then I got the chance to try a foundation with primer already in it. Bonus.

I use primer beforehand to smooth out my pores, and then apply foundations.

I don't really see a difference with primer I have never noticed it stayed on longer with or without. I use it off and on but I find having a really good moisturizer before putting makeup on makes all the difference!

I use primer after a makeup artist showed me difference
(half face with primer, half without)
and noticed a significant difference
the primer refines the face
gives it a smooth template to work with
smooths out face
prepapres the face
helps with the pores
helps makeup stay put
helps foundation glide on smoothly
i found makeup looks more professional and stays longer all day
as well does not look caked-on or penetrated into pores
primer makes a difference
do half a face and half without and judge for yourself :)

I really think a good moisturizer and primer make a huge difference when you wear foundation. I tested quite a few different brands before settling on my current fave of Prep and Prime from Pur Minerals. Definitely ask for some samples to try and see what you think for yourself!
Primer gives a smooth canvas on Jan 15, 2016 @ 06:16 pm
I always use primer to smooth out any uneven areas, especially enlarged pores. I find it gives you a better canvas to "paint your face on" - like painting a wall a primer allows the paint (foundation) to adhere better and give a better overall finish and color :)

Rather than additionally clogging pores, I find that using a light, moisturizing primer can effectively reduce the amount of makeup that absorbs in to your skin, and causes acne and blackheads! Priming your face after your cleansing routine and before applying your regular cosmetics also reduces the chances of your makeup running, blotting, blotching, or drying out throughout the day. A good primer will condition the skin, prepare it by creating a smooth canvas, and reduce the appearance of redness, blemishes, and pores!
It's a commonly committed beauty 'no-no' to apply foundation without some kind of priming and preparing routine! Even if it's simply using your favourite facial lotion and allowing it to absorb.
Unprimed skin is more prone to blemishes and acne, however using the wrong primer definitely can contribute to this, or applying too liberally. I use Maybelline MasterPrime Blur and Smooth Primer and it mattifies and evens tone beautifully without being too thick or oily!
PRIMER! on Jan 17, 2016 @ 02:42 pm
Definitely primer before foundation. I use the Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer and I find that they makes my makeup lasts all day, prevents my foundation from accentuating my dry patches and makes my foundation look less cakey.
Depends... on Jan 20, 2016 @ 11:53 pm
Depends how I'm feeling. Depends on the foundation.
Sometimes when I use certain foundations, I don't notice a difference with or without. Other times, it is significantly noticeable, as the foundation sinks into my pores. I say find a good primer and you'll notice the difference. I currently use one by Smashbox and I don't think I'll ever switch.
