spotty | honey on Oct 28, 2009 @ 12:46 pm I can't help you w/ hair removal other than recommending an epilator (Braun Silk-e).
For your dry skin, however, I recommend honey. That's right, right-off-the-grocery-shelf honey. Use it just like you would a cleanser. Get your face damp (not wet). Put a nickel to quarter's worth of honey in your finger tips, and rub around like you would any liquid cleanser. Its sticky, but as soon as it makes contact w/ the water on your face, it smoothes around nicely.
Honey works well b/c it is a natural humectant. It acts to lock in the moisture your skin already has, rather than stripping it away. Follow up w/ a light moisturizer and you're set. |
misschickie | Are you removing facial hair? on Oct 28, 2009 @ 02:18 pm Maybe I misunderstood you, but it sounds like you are using hair removal cream on your face and that is what is causing the dryness. I think you'd be better off waxing or threading than using chemicals to remove the hair. I've tried products like that on my legs and it was not a good situation. I don't know what they use there but it is a no-go for me.
Spotty is right about the honey :) |
jovanna | Yes...facial hair on Oct 28, 2009 @ 03:48 pm It's not the first time I use though so I'm surprised now that this time it left my skin so dry. I used the same one other times and never happen before. So I'm clueless now... |
jovanna | What honey do you ladies use? on Oct 28, 2009 @ 03:53 pm What's the name....which one should I use...?
Thanks... |
spotty | honey is honey on Oct 28, 2009 @ 05:05 pm Any honey will do. Honey is pretty much honey. I usually just buy the grocery store brand honey. Give it a whirl. I hope you like it. |
mamaluv | ... on Oct 29, 2009 @ 06:21 am Spotty's right. You can use any honey - organic, cheap generic, creamy, or liquid. It really doesn't matter. You can also get quite a few beauty products that contain honey, but the straight-off-the-shelf version will be cheapest and easiest to find.
For more great honey tips, read the reviews posted here. Hope that helps! |

jovanna | Do I wash after...? on Oct 29, 2009 @ 11:29 am Do I leave the honey on my face or wash it after some minutes...? |
misschickie | Wash it off after a few minutes on Oct 29, 2009 @ 12:09 pm You can use it as a quick exfoliator in the shower (assuming you use creamed honey, not the soft stuff) or you can soak in the tub with a honey mask for a few minutes before rinsing. |
