Has anyone else noticed how drugstore products are just hiking in price? Like the revlon colorstay whipped and the new L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundations and setting spray, like holy cow, it's drugstore because it's supposed to be more affordable! I don't know how they can keep getting away with raising the prices!
I also used to buy my l'oreal tru match for like 5$ when it went on sale and now it's 12$ regular price in Canada? Ugh why?!
Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to know if I'm the only one noticing this!

I recently ran out of concealer and was so surprised at how much the prices have gone up. I was used to spending within the $5.00 range but all I could find were prices ranging from $9.00 up to $17.00! I don't see how they can justify these prices. Mascara is another product that has increased dramatically over the years. Gone are the good old days where you could have spent $20.00 or less at the drugstore and have all the products you needed to make up your face. This is why I tried out E.L.F. products online. Their price point and quality is so much more reasonable. I've also been finding great brands like Almay, Maybelline, Revlon and more at Dollarama. I'll always check what they have first before going to the drugstore. You should also see if your drugstore carries the Essence brand. Pretty good products!

In Surrey, the lowest I've seen for foundation at a drug store it's $10 and that's when it's on sale.

I thought I was going crazy, but it seems I'm not alone in realizing this! I've noticed that Shoppers is really bad for cosmetic prices. If I'm going to buy drugstore price-range cosmetics, I'll just go somewhere like Walmart where it's always way cheaper. I'll buy stuff on sale at Shoppers to get the Optimum points, plus sometimes other stores don't have what I want, but I've definitely noticed that their prices have gotten crazy.

I was shocked at shoppers prices. L'Oreal Tru Match here in canada is $19.99 and I can get it at walmart for 12$ or sometimes even 9$ on sale. Shoppers had it on sale for 15$ a few months ago but that's still ridiculous! They can kiss my butt with their prices, there's no reason they should be that high when they're cheaper everywhere else!

I know! I was there today and picked up a few groceries because my husband is sick, but they wanted $3.50 for a can of soup that I can usually get for $1.50 or $1.99 at Walmart. Their make-up is crazy, too. When I lived in another province I'd go to Rexall all the time because it was closer to my house, but I haven't lived there for a couple of years. I went to one recently and was shocked at how much the prices for everything had gone up.

Yes,I've noticed that also.It seems like everything is going up in prices. The thing that bothers me the most is the Supermarkets.Items just don't seem to be going up a few pennies like a dime or so,it's from twenty five cents to fifty cents and in some cases more.I think it is un fair myself. There should be someone to monitor the Markets. that is always posting their increase in prices[. What I noticed in the drug stores is ,one day you go in,it's a certain price, and the next day it's gone up. doesn't seem right for some reason.

I get my prescriptions filled at Shoppers, but I refuse to shop there! Whenever they ask I'll be shopping in store and would like a beeper while I wait, decline, and grab a magazine and sit and read it like an asshole. Even their Payrus cards are over priced! And it's not a little, it's a lot! Makeup is the worst. I just stick with Sephora. They have lines that are crazy expensive, but they also have alternatives and the staff know what they're talking about. I wonder how drug stores stay in business!

For some time now, I have noticed that the prices of items at Shopper's Drug Mart vs. Walmart (or Giant Tiger) is much higher for the identical product. It's crazy!
I do shop at Shopper's, but only when the item that I want is on sale or reasonably priced. Got to love those Shopper's Optimum points, tho!

I keep a close eye on prices at SDM, they do have some great prices for when things are on sale, and if I can collect points for it to - then it's a no-brainer for me. Their cosmetic prices for general items have always been higher than Wal-Mart but their "Premium" brands are on par with retailers like Sephora (minus the large selection). Couple of my local stores always have some amazing clearance deals constantly so it's good to keep your eye out for them. I've bought Olay moisturisers for as low as $2 (for products that retailed $30 ) and Nicole OPI polishes for $1
