Self-Taner for the Extremely Pale :P

on Apr 23, 2012 @ 03:27 pm

This question is going out to the pale ladies out there!
I'm talking Ivory or lighter!

Has anyone out there that fits this description tried a self-tanner?
I never have.  Ever.  And I refuse to get a real tan, so here's my question.

Are there any self-tanners that look natural and even on someone with extremely pale skin?
I'm looking for somethinge extremely subtle as I wouldn't put it on my face...

I expect the answer is no, but I figured I'd try :P

Well, I'm not ivory, lol, but I do have a girlfriend who is and she swears by Lancome's Flash Bronzer! Maybe you can start there, maybe read up on it!?,default,pd.html?start=9&cgid=skincare-benefit

I'm very pale too on Apr 23, 2012 @ 04:33 pm

Personally, I'm not a fan of self tanners because no matter what, on my skin there is always orange and it's really hard not to notice small patches that I missed. I prefer bronzer or a tinted moisturizer for the face or just to leave it pale. I actually think pale skin looks really beautiful. For the body I've just given up trying to hide the paste and just embraced it. It's how God made me and I'm ok with it! But, I know that's not the way everyone feels about it. you can actually use bronzer on your legs or other body parts like vlicious suggested. I've had that for video shoots and it's not only convincing but can be pretty flattering!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze! on Apr 23, 2012 @ 04:42 pm

The Body Shop has a line of bronzers/self-tanners called Honey Bronze. There's one for th ebody and one for the face and they're pretty decent. The only problem is you have to make double double triple sure that it's all dry before you get dressed or it WILL smudge onto your clothes. But it's great at giving subtle colour and you can see exaclty where you're applying. Also, it depends if you want something that's low maintenance because this stuff is pretty much just liquid bronzer so it washes off each day. If that's not your thing, hopefully someone here can recommend a really good gradual tanner moisturizer for fair skin. Good luck!

Thanks! on Apr 24, 2012 @ 08:03 am

Thank you ladies!!
It's mostly my legs i'm concerned about. And it's not the pale so much as the fact that I have horrible allergies in the summer so between swollen fly bites and hives my legs can look terrible :/
