I just gave my name to sell avon products. I am supposed the representant next week but I would like to know how it works before meeting her. Do I need to pay fews before I even start to sell??? If yes, how much? Do I need to find my own customers or people can find me by a website or something? Do I keep the balance of things I sell or I send them all the money and they pay me after??? Is it safe?
Could you please inform me, I saw some of you are actually selling their products.
Thank you in advance!

I know a woman who sells Avon. I think you have to pay a small amount, if I remember correctly. I might be wrong, though. I know that she buys stuff to keep in stock from time to time. But most times she just orders stuff in when I order it from her.
I have to say, a lot of Avon products have improved over the years. I remembered it being kind of junky and not the greatest quality. But I picked up a catalogue while I was in the hospital for an extended period of time and ordered something just for the hell of it. A lot of the products I tried are quite nice. Their Mark brand has some not too bad makeup brushes and their lip glosses that I've tried are quite nice. Very pigmented and not sticky or smelly or bitter tasting.
As far as finding your own customers, as far as I know, you can set up a website. You can also leave catalogues laying around places you frequent with your name on them and put advertisements in your local paper. As far as I know, you are responsible for finding the bulk of your own customers, if not all. But as I said, I just buy the stuff, I don't sell it, so take my info with a grain of salt.
Regarding how they pay you, I'm not exactly sure. But I think you buy the products for a reduced price and then sell them for the retail price listed in the catalogues. I believe that's the way you make your money. It seems a lot simpler to me than Mary Kay or something like that.
Anyways, good luck with your new business :-) Maybe somebody who sells it will be able to give you some more info.
