I would try something that's labeled as a volumizing shampoo. Stay away from store brands and go to your local salon - see what they recommend. Not trying to pry, but have you had your Thyroid checked? An underactive Thyroid can cause thinning hair (amongst other things). All it takes is a simple blood test to find out. I had an underactive Thyroid as a result of an Auto Immune response and once I started medicating for it, my hair is coming back thicker than ever. Prior to that, the shower drain always looked like a furry animal was living there! Good luck :)

Hi S.Rachel,I know exactly where you are coming from.I have the very same problem and don't know what to do about it.I have tried every Shampoo and Conditioner I can think of and nothing works.I'm using VO5 Hot Oil Treatments now to work on the scalp and maybe stimulate the roots.when my hair comes out,it falls right from the root.I've been only doing this now for a little over a week.If I see any improvement I'll be sure to post back.

Hi! Thanks for your reply! And yes, I do have hypothyroidism, and have been on medication for it for almost a year, but I have not noticed any improvements! I notice my thinning on the crown of my head more than anything, and it's super obvious when I have my hair down!

A few tips,
Stay way from any shampoo that has sodium formaldehyde.
Also look for paraben free shampoos.
I was having same issue and then started using a Tree tea oil shampoo by Arbonne, it has helped immensely. Let me know if you are interested in the shampoo.

|DS Laboratories on Dec 13, 2014 @ 10:15 pm|
Last summer at my salon we just started selling DS Laboratories Hair products. My boyrfriend has been losing his hair and after using Bosley, Nioxin, nothing worked, just irritated his scalp.
I then prescribed him to this product and it has worked wonders. they believe in this product so much that they have a 60-90day warranty, if you hair keeps shedding after that just send in your reciept and the box it came in.
To get the most out of it you need to wash your hair 5 times out of the week.
Hope this help, and check out of my blog shearkatrina.com
