|Did you do it yet? on Feb 02, 2011 @ 02:27 pm|
I was doing a little google research into hair trends last week when I was itching to give myself bangs again, but I didn't find much to support my urge.
What I did find in the way of trends was a lot of natural looking waves and curls, long hair, middle parts, and very subtle highlights.
meredithk115, if you want something a little different why not ask the stylist what colour she thinks will compliment your skin tone? Or you could add both high-lights and low-lights if you want a more subtle change, Or you could go for a dramatic short-do and ask about new ways to style your hair.
In my opinion, you could pull off a warm dark brunette colour. Something a little lighter than Jessica Alba in this picture.

We did some videos for this at Fashion Week and here are the links:

Any of those work for you?

Love loose waves for spring. You might want to look into loose curl perm? Or possibly a volume perm for body? You could always get a haircut that frames your face and add body or waves on a daily bases as you feel needed =]

Have you, or a friend ever had a loose curl perm? I'm curious about firsthand experience because I would love to try something like this. It would save me so much time in the morning.

I think we're looking into a season that is done with the pin straight hair and looking to add some texture, and sometimes an 'imperfect' look!

My friend had it done. She says that it's definitely dependent on the hair stylist. She had it done perfect but another friend's stylist made the curls too tight! I will be getting my hair permed in spring hopefully though (depending on my hair's health and when spring will actually arrive in toronto) so I'll make sure to update somewhere

@rubanxrose, that's what I would be afraid of - I did the perm thing so many times what I was little and although I love curls I wouldn't want them to be as tight as they used to be.

Yes I did get some color and ended up getting a cut too.
I took recommendations from ChickAdvisor and went to Salon Liberte-I was not disappointed!
I did get some blonde highlights-however I also had a nice honey colored base which complements them well. For the cut, I went a little shorter than I normally would but the layers and texture complement my face a lot better than what I had.
Thanks for all of your suggestions-I am definitely bookmarking this and will save it for my next style/color.
