Recently, beauty Youtubers/bloggers have been talking about the first makeup products they used to wear, or sharing what their beauty routine was in high school. I thought it would be fun to share our own experiences with what we used to wear on our faces :)
For me, it started with my mom ordering some lipglosses from Yves Rocher. We would get their catalogue every so often, and I remember thinking that shiny lips looked so cool. I wanted my lips to be as shiny as possible. I was probably only about 11 or so, and that was all I would wear was shiny, glittery lipgloss.
I didn't start wearing most of my makeup until high school. A lot of days I didn't wear any, but some days I would pick and choose a couple items to wear. When I did, this is what I remember wearing:
Foundation: I've never been a foundation wearer, but I do remember trying a Covergirl cream foundation at one point because I thought it looked neat. It came with a little sponge to apply it. The colour was all wrong and it looked terrible, so I never wore it. The same thing happened with a Maybelline mousse foundation.
Concealer: There was this little blue stick concealer from Clean & Clear that I remember trying. It had salicylic acid in it to help with breakouts. I believe I also had a stick concealer from a brand called Faces, which used to have a store in our mall, but it doesn't exist anymore. Liquid concealers terrified me.
Powder: I remember trying many, but the one I used the most was one in a green compact by Covergirl. I had really oily skin and this used to help.
Blush: Covergirls cheekers blush! I don't remember the shade, but it was a pale peachy-pink with a bit of shimmer in it. It smelled kind of like baby powder. I remember liking my cheeks to have shimmer, so I had a shimmer powder by Annabelle that I would put on top.
Eyeshadow: When Bonnebell started making eyeshadows, I remember using quite a few of those. I had two quads -- one that was beige and pink, and the other that was more of a blue and grey smoky pallette. I also had a little quad from Maybelline that was all shimmer shades with a white, light brown, dark brown, and lavender. I think I wore mostly blue eyeshadow in high school.
Eyeliner: I didn't start using it until I was about fifteen, but I was terrible with it. At first I had a brown and a blue automatic pencil from Rimmel, and that wasn't too bad, but once I started using black pencil, I looked like a raccoon for years. My mom bought me a black kohl pencil from Lise Watier because it was the eyeliner she liked. I just ran it around the entire perimetre of my eyes and looked crazy.
Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash. Again, my mom used it, so I used it. There was a Wet n Wild one I really liked, which had a curvy wand, but it was always really hard to find.
Lips: I wore lipgloss religiously. Mostly, I just wore really cheap stuff from Ardene or Bonnebell, but when I saved up my allowance enough I spent it on a Lancome Juicy Tube in a sheer red, and a Clinique gloss in a pink nude. Those two were all I wore for the rest of high school.
I had zero skills and mostly looked like a goth in high school, but they were still fun days and I don't regret them :) I'm interested to hear about what products you chicks used to use! Do you still use any of ghem?

Probably my mum's Avon! But the first I bought was a fancy little glittery eye pallette cube from The Body shop!

I wasn't allowed to wear makeup in high school. The only time I was allowed to wear makeup was for grade 12 pictures and my mom gave me her cover girl liquid foundation.

My mom's avon, until she agreed to let me buy/wear my own. I think that was around grade 7?

Besides the lip smacker lip balms and fruity glosses. I think my first time wearing makeup was back in high school (probably the end of grade 9). I threw on a winged liner using New York Color Liquid Liner and curled my lashes, no mascara.
Funny story, with the winged eyeliner: I didn't realize it was a "skill" to draw a wing liner. I just saw a few photos online (myspace/ early Facebook days) and just followed suite. I was confused as to why people always complimented me on my eye makeup... now I know :)

The only thing I really wore in high school was Lip Smackers lol. However I do remember vividly the perfume I used and it was called Tribe and it had a really bright pink and blue cover. I loved that stuff.

wonderwhatif -- I remember the glitter cubes! I thought they were so cool. I think I did end up buying one, but I can't remember what colour it was.
christinat -- I only wore liquid liners, but I quickly found out I was no good with them back then! Kudos to you for actually being able to use them.
